...but the second half today reinforced my fear that we have too many players who are not, and probably never will be, Championship quality. Having said that, you have to credit McCarthy for changing things because the way he set up first half gave Hammill so much room he was threatening to run riot. It was certainly Adam's best performance for some considerable time. But the fact is that although Macca's changes made Ipswich more solid, they still didn't cause many problems, and it was only terrible defending that allowed them to end up winning.
Wonder what price the bottom 3 as it stands now at the end of the season.... Burton Barnsley Brentford Hope im wrong but i do think we will be in or around there all season ..one obstacle too many placed in Heckys lap...yes i know only two games in but that defence is crying out for someone with experience if only to put a foot on the ball.
Neither will we, like ive said on another thread, too many good players to come into this team for us to be relegation fodder.. Stand firm till after international break, then watch us push on
If we avoid relegation Hecky should get a statue outside the town hall. Not impossible but the size of the task shouldn't be underestimated.
This. The main question now is can we accentuate the positives, as there are some, quickly enough, whilst reducung the negatives as there are some of those too.
Hecky seems to be putting obstacles on his own lap at minute. The team selection and formation at Bristol the substitutes today. If tom Bradshaw keeps on scoring he will be gone in January. Us Burton millwall Bolton will all be scrapping for survival just hope we have enough when Lindsay cam Izzy and thiam are in contention.
Positives. Players to come back. New signings to give us more upfront with presumably more on the way. Hecky is a good manager. Fan base is pretty unified behind him. If we go down we have go together a good L1 side which would bounce back and then have more experience. Bolton, Burton, Millwall will also struggle. Negatives. It's gonna be a long hard season.
He scored 3 in 2 so far and the service since January was terrible. Danny ward at rotherham only scored 10 last season and he was a pen taker. He then went to cardiff for 2million.
I was encouraged at half time because we seem to have some players who individually are pretty skilful and we looked promising on the break. But as it stands, we will be bottom 3 simply because it looks like we will need to score 3 to get anything out of a game. That defence has 2 goals in it every game. Ipswich will be one of the poorer sides we will play this season. Talking to one of their fans on the way backk to the car, he suggested they were missing 5 first choice players today. And we still gave them 2 goals. A better team would have had 5 today, for all our promise going forward.
2 league goals in 6 months doesn't really constitute regular scoring. He will always score against lower league teams his record shows that. It's fair to say he has struggled to make the step up. Big season for him.
Felt a little sorry for him last season hourhine bree sold Morsey went back to Wigan the creativity at times was terrible. As a team we scored very few goals in 6 months and this wasnt all down to the strikers. We will see how he does this season but like I said 3 goals in 2 games if he gets into double figures and we go down I expect bids will come.
Yes, 3 in 2, but 2 against a fourth division team. I'm taking it as 1 in 2 where it matters, and you're right, if he carries on in that way he'll be flogged in Jan
Winnall missed plenty but he scored plenty too we created so much and he had a great understanding with Conor and watkins
