according to the weathermen caused by a hot African air plume, although rumour has it Harry Kane is claiming the credit! :D

Been lovely here up in Ayrshire. Peachey has been strutting on the beach. Life is so hard.

Metro free paper front page says today was going to be the warmest ever April 19 in the 177 years since records began in 1841.

    Bring back the snow :)

I think they exaggerate , last year on April 8 we were sat all day outside the crown & anchor and it was far warmer than today . I’m not sure where they get all this ***** from , red top front pages “ hotter than the med” no it’s not !

You're quite right that we did have unseasonally high temps on april 8th and 9th last year, but well below todays temp.
I'm an amateur meteorologist and have recorded the daily temps historically for over 30 years. Last year april 8th had a high of 18.5 degrees and april 9th 19 degrees. Barnsley today however has recorded 25 degrees. So it has been hotter, it's not a bag of *****.
    Back to normal next week.

From personal experience ( April 8 is my birthday) and last year sat outside the C&A seemed far warmer than today . The sweats could have been all the ale like ! PS the red tops are ***** with headlines like “ hotter than the med “ etc

Yes it was warm for the time of year and i remember it too, and i agree the the headlines are a load of guff. Next week we will be back to 12/13/14 degrees, unlike the med where it will continue to stay warm and toastie for the next 6 months or so. I reckon there will be no more than 10 days over the rest of our summer that will reach higher temps than that set today: no headlines there!
