... Simple question - 'Should Hecky be sacked? but with the condition that if the vote is less than 20% wanting him sacked we have a moratorium on the constant posts by a handful on here who are wanting him removed. Admin could try and get as many to vote as possible to ensure a conclusive result. I am in favour of free speech but the handful of the usual suspects on here when we lose, however well or badly we have played, rant on about Hecky being useless etc etc are really starting to p*ss people off. FFS We are NOT down yet, we have attempted to address the deficiencies in the squad in the Jan window and we have a developing young inexperienced side competing in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Hecky is young and learning but far more qualified than some of the muppets on here calling for his head.
We have got to be strong as fans and support Barnsley even though we've not been good enough .This time the fans attitude could change a game
It's very hard to support a team that just aren't good enough when we haven't gone up a league. So people want someone to blame for this, and for some they can't be bothered to look at the big picture. They a trained by modern football and the media that a bad run of more than 10 games means the manager (head coach in our case) must be sacked.
Very true. It is bloody obvious that the squad limitations that were dumped on Hecky were not of his making and are having a massive impact on our ability to survive, and would be the case no matter who the manager was. It is also true the Hecky is making too many tactical errors at the moment and has done all season. But how many of them are down to trying to find ways to overcome the squad deficiencies. And how many are because of limitations with Hecky himself?. I just can't judge that. We should therefore pull together and forget this nonsense that Hecky is in trouble. We have a fight on our hands and all our energies should be with that. Hecky gets a lot of slack from us as a fanbase because he is a local lad and a bit of a folk hero. And we are sick of sacking managers because it never seems to make things better. But if we did go down and then struggled next season with a squad that should be good enough for a decent crack at L1 then perhaps it would then be time to re-assess as Hecky being a local lad can only protect him for so long. But right now is certainly NOT the time for such thoughts and hopefully it won't come to that.
