Seems to be different in the northeast over the last few days. Think what you will about the man Mike Ashley but he seems to be doing it the right way for me. News about the potential new owners come out in the last 24 hours and he's put out a press statement since. Good luck to Newcastle from me. Would honestly love for them to be a big club. The experience we had up there on the last day of the season was that of a massive club. The noise at the end of the game was one that maybe they could only give. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ews/mike-ashleys-lawyer-releases-new-13784226
Not massive in my eyes - remember them getting crowds of around 14,000 in the second division. Won nothing to speak of for years. Crowd size is never the indication of a big club ... it's what happens on the pitch that matters. Clubs like Wednesday and Leeds can be put into the same bracket ....
Whenever a majority shareholder looks to sell its shares those shares are hawked around, hence the involvement of people like Jarvis, etc.
What do Newcastle fans know about their clubs takeover that we don't know about ours? Is a takeover being negotiated: Both clubs have confirmed Cost of the takeover: Us ~£20m Newcastle: ~£200m Name of potential owners: Us, Messrs Lee, Conway and Beane, Newcastle, that blonde lass(and her investors) Takeover date: Neither clubs fans know, as the clubs themselves won't know an exact date. Mike Ashley has said he wants his through before X-mas. Thats it. Can't think of anything else that has been made public. Also, in that link it states that the blonde lass has signed a full no disclosure agreement, so you wont be getting anything official from her. Seeing as this is the norm in take overs, Messrs Lee, Conway and Beane will have, in all likeliness, have done the same...
Please stop using other things going off at other clubs to knock BFC at any given opportunity Phil. Tiresome fella.
He's already said the reason he's done it ( i.e issued a statement) is that he hopes he can encourage competition in the hope he can talk the price up. As it is , if he gets what's been offered to him, he will walk away with circa £120 million over and above what he paid for Newcastle when he originally bought it.
If you could please list the clubs you support in chronological order that would be great. Are BFC in your top 30?
Im saying Ashley looks, desperate multi million pound business do hawk themselves unless they a struggling
I'd put them as I type this the number one supporters in the country by a million miles. See the support they had down at Southampton. To Mapplewell tyke, I would never say that Mr Crynes doing it wrong. It's for others to be open. With Mr Ashley, he wants to be open with the Newcastle fans. He's been like it a lot over the last year but this season he's really opened up. Admitted a lot of mistakes over naming rights of the stadium (something I actually would like to see sold at Oakwell)
Newcastle are a big city, very big supported club. Why are you constantly comparing us with clubs like them, Man City etc Either you are on a keyboard warrior mission or fecking stupid
The woman involved in the reported £300 million takeover of Newcastle is one of the City's leading dealmakers. Her name is Amanda Staveley. Her group PCP Capital Partners are backed by £28 billion from the Middle East and China. As well as buying the Club they have promised Benitez £300 million to buy new players. PCP were previously interested in taking Liverpool over but they now feel that Newcastle has a strong global following and an opportunity for rapid growth. Ashley paid £134million to buy the Club in 2007 and is in negotiations with four possible bidders, but says he has had to go public because Yorkshire born Staveley was seen at St James Park two weeks ago and rumours started from then about a possible takeover. As I have said in my earlier post Ashley was keen to let people know he's selling up to try to encourage a bidding war. For her part, Staveley who is 44 was instrumental in Sheik Mansour successfully buying Manchester City. Ashley has stated he wants £400 million and talks now look set to begin because a Non disclosure agreement has now been signed by both parties.
Phil, if we had the crowds, income and premier league money that Newcastle have and were run as badly as they have been in recent years you would combust. Your keyboard would have been smashed as you furiously smashed the keys to post your attacks on a daily basis. Yet you see something that fits your agenda so you hold them up as a beacon of excellence to which we should aspire. I would prefer PC over Mike Ashley every day of the week. As for them being a big club you shouldn't be fooled into thinking that a big crowd equates to being a football giant. They are a one club city miles from anywhere thus a massive catchment area so they should be getting big crowds. I also remember them getting sub 20,000 crowds and it's not a very long time ago.
