Breaking Sky sports news .
Inevitable he will leave I think
Trying to tempt us with an extra £9.99
Shouldn't accept anything less than £2.5 million but I suspect the increased offer won't be more than half that & he'll be off.
I understand & support the plan but somewhere along the line we have to say no.
Throw Nakhi Wells in and I would say that's a deal.
Will we spend on a replacement with decent Championship pedigree or go with what we have.
I think I know.
It's got us to where we are. Apparently.
Selling our best players might work for a business but as a supporter it's driving me to think what is the point.
I think Hecky would say we have to...
Then people we hear him say it but say that's not what he actually meant.
It's exciting apparently.
That promotion side will have netted us over £15 million if he goes.
How can we compete when teams are paying £15k £20k £25k a week for our better players?
The players themselves are not going to turn that down and the club has a wage structure it clearly isn't going to break.
Had we kept them would have netted us much more
Gosh, I do miss the days when our team was so s*** that we never had any clubs interested in our players...
Why can't people understand that we simply cannot afford the wages to compete in this division? It's really simple.
I've heard time and time again that we need three or four more 'quality' signings. Well those 'quality' signings will demand around 20k a week on three year contracts. That's 3 million quid per player for 3 years. That's 12 million quid on 4 players over that period. And that's without factoring in transfer fees. 4 'quality' players? 2 million each is fair? That's 8 million. Add that to your 12 million in wages and that's 20 million spent on 4 'quality' players.
Yes we've received about 15 million over the last 2 years in transfers. That's an approximation. But the reality is that 15 million quid doesn't go very far in this day and age.
We just have to trust the men in charge, trust "The Plan" that we all take the piss out of from time to time and just support the club. Rotherham have just released 32 year old Dexter Blackstock 1 year into a 3 year deal which was approximately 10k a week according to the Rotherham Advertiser. I wouldn't want to go down this route again.
He wasn't in the promotion side.
We broke the wage structure to sign Hammill when in L1.
It must have been a non football supporter that thought of ...The plan..
