I’m used to us, taking one step forward and two back every transfer window.

But we've not even so much as looked forward this summer, never mind taken a step forward, coming into this window i thought it was vital that we got the players in we needed for the next three seasons, one season in L1 improving League one and two players like we did last time and Sheffield united also did then a year in the championship reaping the rewards before they moved on for peanuts again, after this summer ever that little ray of hope as gone, this transfer window may have set us back more than the last three combined. We're going to be scrambling around on January 31st trying to loan in a few player to try and keep us up at this rate.

Don’t think I could disagree more.

We could do with a holding midfielder - but if we only got that we’d be ok in my view, if nobody leaves of course. I suspect we’ll bring in two or three anyway.

Or it may be that this squad is good enough and that the next transfer window is the one that sets us up for the final push?

If Bradshaw or Moore got injured we have no striker back up.

    Walton not good enough.

Need a holding midfielder and also.another wide man.

Could do with 4 players in to give us depth and options.

Never known us to not sign anyone during a summer window.

Walton looked good enough in his few championship games last season.

Yes, I think it's probably just a bit early for the lad. A spell out on loan this season might do him good, if we could sign a really good keeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, as well as in the air. High press means keepers need to be coming out of the box more & getting the ball up field early. However if no such keeper can be signed I'd settle for Walton as back up, he's way better than Townsend.

If Walton goes out on loan (assuming he's not going to be our No.1) what do we do for a back-up keeper? Oh, I know, we'll get one on loan!

Need a keeper and defensive midfielder,
any team looking to do anything must have a good keeper, just have to look at last season

My post says " if we could sign a really good keeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, as well as in the air". For once a loan from a top flight club might be a good option. Give Walton experience elsewhere & we get a player we might not be able to sign. Would give Davies some time to work on his form & fight back into the team. He was decent up to last season.

Walton looked like a bag of nerves on Tuesday. Every time he had the ball at his feet he was looking to do something but far too often found himself under pressure, therefore making a wrong decision. He's young, so he will learn, but we can't afford to give the ball away as much once the league campaign gets under way.

He got away with it a couple of times in the first half - that one where he fired the ball at Pinnock almost knocking him over was comical but could have been costly. He didn't inspire confidence at all, in either his defenders or us watching. I liked the look of him when he got the nod towards the end of last season but he didn't look good against WBA. Maybe he was intimidated playing against such a quick and experienced side who soon cottoned to the fact that if they put him under pressure there was a good chance he'd mess up.

I hope he learns a lot from Tuesday night - it was a good test for all of them and, in general, we did alright. There was much to admire in our play, but equally much to make you want to hide behind your hands, hoping the ball would soon be hoofed upfield.

Let 7 in 3 games not a great start. If we are playing sweeper keeper I can’t see him being able to do that.

I think that nobody leaves and nobody joins. Settled squad. Promoted by March.

Yup. In the build up to our excellent second goal, Cavare put in a terrific cross field pass to Thiam. Pinillos then put in a pin point cross for Moore to head home.:D

I'm more worried about their ability to defend than I am in heir ability to pass a ball once in a blue moon :)

We've focused on defenders abilities to attack rather than defend for far too long and I think it's been at our cost
