Will be cos pompey will have to attack us. Burton played for the 0-0 from minute one and they made it a drab game.
tbf, Burton came for a 0-0 and got it. Portsmouth will be totally different, will be a much more open, flowing match with more opportunities for both teams. Portsmouth aint exactly excelled tonight either.
Burton killed the game. Though given how poor our midweek record is I wonder if there is something in it that we just can't play the high tempo without the rest days.
Thought we toiled tonight...never mind let's try harder at pompy. Oh....please please please vary our corners
Finally drawn a game we should have won. Just when we had it all in our own hands we mucked it up. The traditional BFC way.
Sloppy passing though. Lost count of times we gave the ball away. At least we created a couple of chances in the first half. Nothing much at all second half. Young Bahre is one very frustrating player.
Our decision making and final ball was really poor today. We had maybe three or four phases that were our chance to finish against a solid team
Non-event really compared to recent games. Wouldve been a vital 3 points nicked but oh well. Back to business on Saturday
Don't think Barnsley "were crap". When the opposition come intent on 'spoiling' and playing for a draw, like Burton have, it is very difficult to break teams like that down. Burton kept their shape and defended really well. Some of our final balls (as usual) were poor. In recent games we have had lots of chances so it didn't matter or affect the final result. In games like this, chances are few and far between and you have to make them count which, unfortunately, we didn't tonight. Frustrating Yes!. Crap - no!
A disjointed, bland performance, got worse as the game went on. Burton came for a point, defended well, packed out their half and made it so difficult to pass our way through, similar to Wycombe away.
You can only play well if the opposition give you time and space to do so. As I said in another thread, Clough said he had a strategy to frustrate us. It worked. As others have said, they came for the draw and they got it. Onwards and upwards. Need to do better on Saturday. Simple as…
I like Bahre and he is skilful on the ball and looks classy. Tonight though, he did his best to dispel that opinion and his touch was awful and passing wayward . He looked rushed with the ball and out of sorts.
