The result seems very reminiscent of the sort of games we were having under Lee Johnson. 25 shots to 10, 10 on target to 2, losing 1-2. A combination of lacklustre finishing and questionable defending, although the all round play based on comments on here was pretty good.
To be fair, amidst that run of 10 defeats or whatever it was, we were dominating games and losing by the odd goal. The Fleetwood home game springs most to mind, we had about 30 chances and lost 2-1.
It wasn't anything like football wise, we played with two out & out wingers in Hedges & Hammill who ran at the full backs & Moncur & Potts each supported Bradshaw in turn. The Johnson football to me was much slower & not very entertaining
Like I've posted earlier - it was a good match. We dominated large parts of the game. Ipswich never looked like scoring - but managed to score 2. Ipswich are a poor team. However - we need to tighten up in defence - that's both midfielders and defenders. And Hecky needs much more options in attack e.g. tall strikers and quick strikers. If we get the right players in then we have the makings of an exciting team.
I suppose on the upside then if the football is better, then we won't slump to as poor a run as we did then. It's all about tightening up at the back for me. Stop conceding as many goals and you become difficult to beat.
