Would love that, but suspect it will soon be way out of my price range! Just one thing, as a supporter who only saw Ian Banks in his second spell with us, I must say that this shirt looks far too small for him. Maybe it's the camera angle?

I should hope I was a little more slender in 1982, I was only four!

Great player 1st time round. His goals alone were worth the attendance money. Sometimes pilloried for supposedly being idle. His passing and reading of the game was second to none.would allow defenders to go on runs and cover their positions. Especially .Phil Chambers who had a great interpassing game with the king. Ronnie himself.

Longer than me then, I think it was about 35 minutes for us. Saw the whole of the replay though.

Estimated 17000 Barnsley fans in ground.( Sold 14000 + pre game) and the powers that be thought we wouldn't sell a second allocation for the fa cup quarter final years later. ( Criminal) The atmosphere from the Barnsley fans that night has never been bettered in my eyes.

I don't think I've met a Barnsley fan from that era who wasn't at Anfield that night, or who didn't at least attempt to get there. Apart from my dad, but as he was combining his PhD with looking after two pre-school kids, he can be excused. Especially as we were born in Harrogate and he made sure we didn't grow up supporting York or L**ds (shudder).

Looking at the shirt I saw this pop up......

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980-198...m=253878233957&_trksid=p2056116.c100935.m2460

Someone making 29 lots of approx 46 quid using our intellectual property. I remember that official site article the other year about this kind of thing......

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2016/october/club-statement-counterfeiting-and-brand-abuse/

Have we stopped going after people? If we are going after the small time market stall holders around the town, surely we go after the more widespread sellers?

Got back to services after the game it looked like loads had been in a war zone. Busses had windows put through. ( brother ran a bus from featherstone got in ground with 20 mins left had sky lights put thro on way back.) Cars would be looked after for a fiver.( by well meaning scousers. My arse) Still makes me chuckle if true that one of the busses from elsecar dragged a scouser on to bus as fighting broke out. and threw him out somewhere along the M62 minus his shoes. still one of best nights ever. lol.

Yeah I have been told a story of that match. A group of fans went in the car. They park up and some young kids say Mr I will look after your car for a fiver. They say it's ok kid I've brought my dog with us. Kid replies but Mr can your dog put out a fire. Obviously they pay the kid to get home safely.

I was there too, if I remember right, the KO had to be delayed to allow Tarn fans time to get into the ground after being delayed through heavy fog on the M62 - what a great night that was, the Kop was silenced.
