Don't you pay electricity bills, gas bills, water bills, car insurance, house insurance, buy clothes, watch telly, go to football matches, have a beer, have a mobile phone, have a computer, pay for the internet?

I guess you don't. You obviously live in a cave, eat raw carrots, you've stolen your car, you drive illegally and you're currently posting on this message board from the free internet connection at the library, dressed in a sack.

Silly you Jay, if you are on benefit you have to live in a cocoon made from straw and have mushed up left overs fed through a straw. You no longer need any other services or interests. ;)

And before anyone starts yes I'm being silly.

I am not on benefit, I have one good meal a day and I dont drink

Yes I watch TV binternet access is less than £1. Clothes if you by good quailty stuff it last for years so you hardly ever have to by.

Car is pad for insurance less than 75p per day.

In fact the only realy big thing to pay is the community charage which is very expensive. But for day to day living £5 is living well

And just to further illustrate how utterly ridiculous your claim is:

We live in an ex-council house 2 bedroom semi. We pay £395 per month on the mortgage and £84 per month on gas and electricity.

That's £15.97 per day. That's £15.97 without having anything to eat, without paying the council tax, without having a telly or a phone or internet or a car or any type of insurance or any clothes or anything.

£5 per day is £1825 per year or £35 per week. I would struggle to keep a dog on that.

Gas, Electricity, water, house insurance, mobile, car repairs, road fund.

Don't you do anything ? Cinema or heaven forbid... football matches ?

I hope you have more than one good meal a day mate. If you don't then you'd better put some of the money on one side for BUPA ;)

Agreed but it doesn't come in until 5th April 2014.

Also the 'quiet tax' ie National insurance shhhh because it is really a tax, well the starting point to that was linked to the personal allowance. The link was 'forgotten' by the previous regime and not 'remembered' by the current. So... for this year commencing tomorrow you can earn £9,440 before paying tax (NOT £10K) but only £7,748.52 before paying NI at 12%.

If someone earns the personal allowance in 2013/14 they will still pay NI (tax... shhhh) of £202.97. In addition to that their employer will pay £240.67 in employers NI. It therefore is TAX free but at a joint cost to the employer/ee of £443.63 NI (tax... shhhh..)

Oh if you are fortunate enough to have investment income of £9,440 then you don't pay NI so it is tax free.

I'm going now to hide behind the sofa. :nails:

******* hate NI. Employers NI is a tax on jobs.

It all ought to be income tax.

I used to live opposite a couple who were in their 50's.

They bought their old council house for £15k, paid it off in 5 years from a bank loan.
He worked over time every weekend.
    Never went on holiday.
    Didn't drink.
    Never enjoyed himself.
Their lass got a job at Morrisons for the staff discount.
    Tight as f.ck

But the first thing he told me when I met him was 'I've got £250k in the bank'.

He was a lovely person as well.

Try telling the electorate that the basic rate of income tax is 45.8% (IT 20%, Emee nic 12%, Emr nic 13.8%) and see if you get elected.

Anyway I told you to shush... it's all a big secret !

....or gas or electric or water, a car that never needs repairing, a home that never needs repairing too (must haves for all ;)).

You must also be very small or very fat and be on one hell of a diet .........or you've moved to deepest darkest Africa (is that why you're not renewing you season ticket;))
