We'd be relegated by now. 1 win in 12, 1 point from Wigan Brentford & Bristol, game after game throwing away leads.

    Simply not good enough.

This season can't end soon enough!

Proper worried now about next season. I agree that this squad is currently looking like a relegation squad and some of the better players in it will go at the end of the season to weaken it further. Our transfer business in the summer will have to be outstanding to give us a fighting chance next season.

Right now, with this squad, I reckon you could count the number of wins we will get in the rest of 2017 on one hand.

I wasnt there, but was it all down to Roberts going off ?
Theres no doubt that if this team that finished the match starts for us next season, we'll do a 'Rotherham' and be down before easter. I dont envy Hecky for all the work hes going to have to put in in the summer. The pre season is now though and I agree with the idea of dropping messrs Armstrong & Kent, what can we learn from them now in these remaining few games that we dont know already ?

But that's one thing that's not been said - we've been so lucky with injuries all season, which has meant we've done well despite only having about 14 or 15 players from the start that you feel the manager has confidence in.

If a large number on this board were owt to go by we should have been relegated by Xmas with the squad that started the season, so please pardon me if I take no notice of your ramblings.

I agree that we might have been relegated with the current squad, but that's because we are thin in some key areas. If we can keep the current squad and add a couple of signings we are not far off.
In short, it will not take too much to put it right.

I've been, and yes it's much to do with Roberts injury today.

Did he not play a full match the other week against another relegation candidate where we also conceded three? To say Brizzle wouldn't have scored three with Roberts on the pitch we will never know if they would do a Wigan.

Let's be reight, we replaced someone who is now an established Championship defender with (being kind) a rookie and then had to play JONES at centre half which has to be regarded as less than ideal.

And also...the three goals at Wigan one a pen that never was and the other two complete howlers from the keeper.

Im also finding it hard to understand how we could blame that all on the unfortunate loss of a central defender.
And what was the starting formation today, was it 5 in mifield and 1 up front again ? I know Watkins can go forward and support the striker but thats not the same as going with a normal 2 up front is it.

Ok, and this is whats bringing out the best now in Moncur is it, thats the position he seems to favour. That sounds like a great partnership 'on paper' between him and Mowatt in midfield, if only Mowatt could get up to speed a bit better we'd have more to look forward to. Fingers crossed for him having a good positive pre season. If we're going to lose Scowen and/or Watkins then the midfield is looking a bit thinner isnt it, and it raises the question again, should we continue to make the effort with the injury prone R.Williams.
And this is before we even think about defenders and strikers!!

You're always going to miss Roberts height at the back and when you have a set piece at the other end.

When you get chance, have a look at Bristols goals. 2nd was poorly defended and 3rd was virtually a free header. Who do you think would have been marking flint from the corner?

Let's also not forget that Bristol were the form team going into the game compared to us. They were always going to raise their game after a nervous display in the first half.

Almost everybody Fitz is a form team at the moment when they play us, sadly!. And Im not surprised we lost there because its not a good fixture for us anyway, but to concede just 5 minutes after we'd retaken the lead was so disappointing.

Two complete howlers from shots our defenders didn't defend our keeper from having to save.

Ok Ive seen the goals and that was a cracker from Moncur, a real quick neat 'counter attacking' goal and we've surprised a number of teams this season at how well we can do this away from home.
Have we lost that element of surprise now though, we're not a newly promoted club anymore and clubs might have worked us out a bit more. And I will also say we have conceded those sort of free headed goals before even when Roberts is in the team, so Im not sure if I go along with that.
