Brad Potts. Tall, strong, good on the ball. Not sure he is up to Conor's standard, but we could bring him on to get there eventually. They are bound to want big-ish money for him but he might be an affordable option, if necessary. I think he was their best player on Saturday.
It's a good shout. Although he is in demand; https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.da...tition-Championship-rivals.html?client=safari
http://www.blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=576327 Seems like charlton want him too. Sounds very very similar to Conor when we picked him up. Similar age and vast experience already.
Naturally a right sided player. It would take a lot to transform him into a playmaking CM. A huge risk not worth taking.
He were blowin art of his arse after ten minutes and at regular intervals therafter, still he made it to the end.
I remembered a thread back in April where people posted what they believed to be realistic transfer options. I remembered selecting about 10 players from teams of the year I leagues 1 and 2. After digging it out, I've found that Potts was the only one I predicted correctly however there are 3 other names I selected that we were linked with. Looking at this thread, only Potts, Isgrove and McGeehan appear to have been predicted by people on here. All of our other signings appear to have happened a little out of the blue. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/index.php?threads/255398/
Potts has made a steady start, and can only get better. Some compared him to Paul Digby but he moves a lot faster than him. A few weeks ago I highlighted his long striding, loping run to get on the end of a teasing cross at Deepdale. From a long way out he made it and, without breaking stride, slotted the ball home. Something similar happened on Tuesday night. Look at the replay and slow it down to highlight just how big his strides are. A player than can run like that gets to balls he has no right to reach and, so far, he's scored two good goals because of it. I'm not usually very good at predictions but I think there is a lot to come from this lad. Hopefully, but not too soon, he will be a big-money transfer for us.
