Any game from now to the end of the season, we might as well go hell for leather (in the late stages) to get something. Our goal difference is so superior, we might as well lose 2-0, 3-0 trying to get something out of the game.
We did try tonight to be fair. We just came up against a solid side. Nowt special, just solid. Moore grafted all night and won countless battles, but big Mick isn't daft, and knows about defending, and that if you can't win the headers, then you have to be first to the second ball, which is what they did. Mcburnie was played in the centre for the first half and hardly had a touch, played wide in the second, saw more of the ball but was well marked and ineffective. They kept us arms length and restricted our chances.
Totally agree with this. We haven't the midfield to control games, so points are coming from herculean effort (Bristol, Sheff Utd) which is clearly not sustainable over anything but the short term. Two wins at this stage would be better than five draws.
Tough one. We have some of the most fickle fans in the country, if we got a pasting like some of our relegation rivals are getting 'going for it' there'd be riots. Whatever you think about us, we haven't been on the back of nearly as many pastings as other clubs around us this season to our credit.
Our away support are not fickle, they’re amongst the best in country in my opinion, you can take chances away for home, if the effort from the players is evident then they’ll be well backed regardless of the results.
Thought that was Jose plan B already.. if we're winning he puts on a rake of defenders.. if losing the old 1-1-8 formation..
That's what happens when you come up against a team managed by a man with experience of playing and managing in English football coming out of every orifice in his body.
All the evidence seems to suggest Jose has had no hesitation "going for it". And I agree, it is the right thing to do. 3 points are a lot more useful than one at this point of the season.
REALLY? I don't think so. We have had very little to cheer about this season, but very few have got on Hecky's back while he was here. Some of us have questioned the appointment of Morais, but I think we all want him to succeed. Hecky dropped the club in it, signing for Leeds, two days after signing a new contract. That left the club having to make a relatively speedy appointment.
He went for it when we were losing to Millwall & we looked a shambles & the crowd were not happy but on saturday against the Blades , he brought another forward on, tinkered with the formation & it worked out , so there are different ways of going for it , its just horses for courses & hope it comes off
