I wouldn’t touch Heckingbottom. Probably overrated as a manager (time will tell), but there is no way he would be accepted back after what he did. He’s toxic.
I wouldn't want him back and I guess those running the show down at Oakwell would either. But if some people do want him back it's a perfectly acceptable opinion.
I’d love to stand at all away games but I’m over 6ft so for me to stand means that if someone behind me is considerably smaller or can’t stand then inevitably that would result in them being unable to see. Definitely in the minority based on circa 20 years of experience but I certainly wouldn’t stand if it impacted on someone else’s ability to watch and enjoy the game.
The problem is if you then decided to sit so the person behind you could see then you are relying on those in front of you sitting.
Well Mapplewell you are obviously a respectful person unfortunately not everyone is , shame really because its an old saying but a good one " courtesy costs nothing "
I’ve got no issue in asking someone to sit down. It’s common decency. Standing that results in others being unable to see doesn’t make the person standing any bigger fan. There was a rather unsavoury exchange at Rotherham in preseason where a man and his lad blocked the view of many by standing in the aisle and getting aggressive with anyone who asked politely to be able to watch the game they’d paid for. Shocking behaviour, imagine paying to attend a game and wanting to watch it...
Bang on Mapplewell. I'm six four and I'm always acutely aware of whether people behind me can see. It's just common courtesy. Sadly there's a lot of people who don't have it.
Oh I agree, but if you are near the back of the stand it's tough. I really feel for some of our fans I bet some don't go away for that exact reason.
There's no way he will come back it would be like this Brexit ***** down at Oakwell 1/2 for him and 1/2 against him.
It didn"t work for the two previous managers who returned for a second go , Alan Clarke & Danny Wilson both had a poor time of it second time round
He won’t come back. He wouldn’t want to and we wouldn’t ask him. But just for slight balance - people don’t really know the full story of why he left. Neither do I completely, but what I have heard makes me understand it a lot more. And I have really don’t ever blame a bloke for putting his long term financial future for his family first. I would have done what he did. And I probably love Barnsley Less than he does.
That’s one of the strangest comments I’ve read on here. In fact I’d go as far as saying if someone was daft enough to come out with a comment like that they’re probably a wrong un
Not only that, his team containing Currie Cooper, Futcher, Agnew and the like were pretty close to getting in the playoffs, and gave quite a few teams an absolute hammering, including Chelsea and Manchester City.
