Me whilst reading article: Following iFollow’s successful introduction in 2017/18 for supporters based overseas Hahahahaha, yeah right! enhancements are being introduced to the live streaming platform ahead of the start of the new campaign at no extra cost to viewers. Ooh, sounds fantastic!
That's good, although I get to all the mid week ones. It's the weekends in Aug / Sept / Dec I struggle with with work.
One slight annoyance with relegation is that due to us not having international breaks there are fewer midweek games to take advantage of their improved service. Wonder if we will be allowed to have Matts comentary in parallel or if its watch the game in silence or have the audio commentary - Im betting its that one where you cant have both
The article says that it will allow clubs to have bespoke commentary aswell as the video so hopefully the club will do that.
Matt does a brilliant job. Technology is pretty simple to hook the two up. We are are Barnsley though...
it is but it wasnt done for the overseas subscribers last season and when people started connecting a second window to get the commentary themselves iFollow blocked it so it was no longer possible to do it - and blamed the clubs in an act of sheer Trumpism - I have low expectations based on last season
iFollow only blamed the club in that they said it was up to the club whether they wanted to give commentary, which I believe was probably true. Hope we do so next year.
That is pretty poor / weird. I don't know what the licensing issues are, but I can't see how that adds up. The club needs to start listening to the fans. I know we are all mental, but that's why we support the club.
I think Whitey had something to say about that - I dont remember the details but I think it cost the club a significant revenue hit to do that. I think that was why iFollow blocked the 2 window login because the club(s) wasnt paying the extra- maybe someone can remember the full story. It wasnt only BFC that had that issue
I won’t go into detail as it’s not professional to do so, however, I’m happy to see that exactly what we as clubs pushed for at no extra cost to club or subscribers is said to be being implemented.
I do have another, probably stupid, question. Can you view the live games as part of your monthly subscription to ifollow or do I have to pay the £110 subscription fee on top?
That's what's confused me. It says at no extra cost which I took as meaning as part of the forty odd quid deal but if hats the case then those overseas appear to be getting a rough deal
