I can’t ever remember a time when we had 12 points more than Sheffield Wednesday.

It's a good feeling isn't it,12 points ahead of them without even having to kick a ball.
    Good old EFL

Nah, they should be in the league below us.
It's far more beneficial to barnsley in the long run to have fewer local rivals as high up the pyramid as us.

They’ve escaped relegation by a prolonged investigation conveniently

I don’t like Leeds, I despise Sheffield Utd but I’m very meh about Sheffield Wednesday. For the integrity of football and maintaining a sense of FairPlay however, Wednesday should have been relegated and that is a disgrace.
I would happily forego a 12 point head start on them next year because I don’t think we’ll need it but more importantly it’s just not right that they got away with this.

Just before the end of the season gary monk told tbeir fan base that the squad would be changing and they were basically going with kids next season, said at the time and now that is code for "we are screwed and we have zero money". Starting off with -12 points is going to be very interesting for the owls and their coach.

A couple of years ago I did a comparison going back 15 years on the "achievements " of both clubs for a mate of mine who wholly subscribes to the "massive" mantra. We finished higher than them on a few occasions and spent two seasons (I seem to recall) in a league above them. I also looked at cup success, they basically rarely got past the third round, we were much more successful. They have been grossly mismanaged for years.

... and long may their gross mismanagement continue. It’s always been a particular fond wish of mine for us to beat them at Swillsborough and send them down. Be nice to do that in, say, March 2021.
