Is the high intensity football we are playing contributing to the number of hamstring injuries we are picking up. With heavy pitches during winter we may start running out of players. When we recommenced the football last season they had additional breaks in the matches which suited us as a pressing side. We dont have that luxury this season. Do we need to look at rotating players more often to avoid the increased stresses on our players?
It seems to be an issue throughout the league. I think it's lack of a break, short pre-season and a busy schedule
As I’ve said on another thread, it’s the number of games without adequate rest/recovery time and having had no proper preseason to build core fitness that is the issue, rather than the style of play. It was called out by many in the game that we would have muscle injuries due to it, it isn’t only us suffering this, it is the same from the top to the bottom of the pyramid. In hindsight it might well have been better to have started a week or two later and have the season a little longer - the Euros next year dictate that couldn’t happen though.
