Apparently the Reds defeat last Saturday was statistically the unfairest of the weekend. http://www.infogolapp.com/blog/premier-league-and-championship-weekend-review
Surely this then says that the Defence wasn`t ****? - because we stopped them from creating clear cut chances.
Ok we lost but stats keep coming lIke that we will turn it aroUNd and players will get more and more experienced at this level. COYR
I like the new expected goals metric that they've introduced. You can see them quoted on MotD too. It would be interesting to see where we would have finished in the table last season based on the expected goals metric. However, I don't think its necessarily correct to say its 'unfair' that we lost. It could be that we were just unlucky, but it could also be down to: 1. Poor finishing from us 2. Good finishing from Ipswich 3. Poor goalkeeping from us 4. Good goalkeeping from Ipswich What it does say is that our defence played well as based on the chances they created, you would have only expected them to score 0.52 goals. That seems pretty accurate as both of their goals were really good finishes that on another day might have been saved/gone wide.
Or should have been blocked by defenders anyway. First goal player not marked in the box. 2nd was allowed to shoot unchallenged from edge of box. Bad defending
