Moderna (America) is 8 times the cost of the UK one (albeit claims of 95% as opposed to 62-90% efficacy may account for some of it. Then again that could be due to the fact that UK is cautious as all have yet to be peer reviewed. Nevertheless I can see cash strapped countries, However desperate to get a vaccine will baulk at £25 a pop. EDIT: Remind me again. How many millions did Governments etc. give these companies to assist with development costs? Americans... it's always about the money!!. Both vaccines below with American involvement are far more expensive than the other two!
The Oxford one is being sold as a not for profit vaccine while the world is in the pandemic situation as per the agreement that Oxford agreed with AztraZeneca once we come out of the pandemic AztraZeneca will be able to sell it for a profit as we will require regular boosters so we will not see true cost of that till later also they will have gained an amount of knowledge that may further developments in other drugs that they can make profit from but every company has to make money or they go bust
