Just searched this Jarvis bloke on twitter, his latest status reads:

"A frustratingly slow several months but everything is coming together now. Deals in play. Busy now in the lead up to the transfer window".

The most interesting thing about that tweet is that the tweet location is Sheffield

Maybe there is a more worrying side to this story?? Maybe this guys is the agent/deal maker for that moron running Aston Villa and maybe he is trying to chuck more of his money at ruining our side by trying to sign Marc Roberts?? Just a thought, hope i am wrong!!

After reading through his timeline I would say there is some truth to these rumours, he specialises in finding clubs new owners & investment.

Of course we all want to see millions put into the club, and for us to become a stable Champship club again who can regularly think about the play offs.
The Venky's at Blackburn are a warning to that sort of thing though and quite often new owners want to bring in their own choice of management team as well.
Its an option for us obviously and one we must all think about, and I reckon its only a matter of time now until somebody else does take over.

By the right people I suppose I mean people with enough money to take us forward, that don't want to rename us the "Dearne valley dolphins", change the colour of our home kit etc etc

I don't want us to be in a similar position to Blackburn or Blackpool further down the line.

On the subject of takeovers and rich investors at Oakwell.

Does anyone think it's only a matter of time before it happens?

As it stands, and for most of the last 35 years or so we've been in the top 50% of clubs of the 92, and the vast majority of the rest have rich owners.

    Maybe our time is coming?

Can't say I'm particularly enthusiastic about this, but like others say it's probably inevitable. Just hope they keep the current successful structures in place. I genuinely think that our current scouting and management team, coupled with the ability to offer competitive wages when players have shown their worth, such as Hourihane, Winnall, Josh, Marley etc, would be enough to see us challenging for a playoff spot. Wholesale changes are definitely not needed.

The last 18 months have been a terrific time for the club and the fans. The strategy we embarked upon has worked in so far as the level of the football and our league standing has improved immeasurably. But at the end of it all we stand yet again at the crossroads. The successful team we built has been part-dismantled in January, and may be completely dismantled this coming summer. So Hecky and the - as yet to be appointed - CEO face a short period where they will have to start all over again. In that regard, we are in a similar place to when my father watched the club in the 40's, 50's and 60's. For Conor Hourihane, read Tommy Taylor, or Danny Blanchflower.

So the question is: do we carry on repeating the same cycle, mixing lengthy periods of averageness with occasional high points, or do we look to find a way to take it all forward and invest in something bigger? The risks in the latter are pretty well set out in the threads above, but is it beyond us to become a Bournemouth or a Burnley? And before anybody calls me a doom monger again, I renewed yesterday! :)

P.S. No-one must tell Red Rain we are having these sinful thoughts! :)

I don't think it is beyond us at all to become a Bournemouth, Burnley or Swansea. Just as long as we don't end up saddled with debt, or with a team comprised of mostly foreigners, like Watford.

I'd say we are effectively the biggest "small club" in English football.

The guy at Orient is perhaps a case in point.

Yes, as I posted further up, it is inevitable that we are looked at given we have low debt levels and are in the Championship, with a decent ground and potential to get good crowds should we have any success at this level.
