    We knew this would happen. I agree for a united ireland but going about it like this ain’t an option. Killing your own kind over different beliefs it’s ******** and they are nothing like the provos in comparison. They are definitely not like the old ira. Michael Collins would turn in is grave what’s previously happened in Ireland! He really would!

    How is it scaremongering? They are generally given very little publicity, airtime. Despite that they have, in the last 12 months, planted bombs designed to kill civilians and murdered a journalist.

    They’re attention seeking freaks, fuelled by publicity. Take away any attention they thrive and they die (again).

    I’ve never let my views on brexit known on this forum and I never will, however whether it is either side of the coin for a news channel to use a terrorist organisation in an argument against a deal or no deal is absolutely ludicrous in my opinion.

    I don’t want to be turning on my television to see members of the IRA being interviewed. Frankly I don’t give a ***** what they have to say.

    I'm not sure myself that it should be used as material for it against brexit. The fact remains though that they have become active. Bombs and murders can't be kept out of the news.
    These people are scum and criminals. The fact remains though that the construction of border check points will be manna from heaven for them and they'll use them as an excuse for continuing their violence and criminality.

    Exactly. The IRA moved onto more lucrative things, this is only an excuse for violence.

    And for anyone who suggests the violence has only re-started recently, then you are badly mistaken. It’s just been reported as widely - but the killings have continued.

    Kami I did say it was a hard one to call regarding the paedo being murdered. But when you reflect on his paedo actions and I doubt he would ever change. Then his death meant he could never do it again.
    Not sure about acceptable but difficult moral situation. As for the unacceptable IRA threats yesterday. We must take it seriously. One radical shoots a policeman UDA retaliates and very soon we are back to square one. God forbid this happens.
