I know what I would have done and that is save the club quite a few thousand pounds by sacking one or both of them. This violence in the workplace has caused the club to pay a player for around 13 weeks for absolutely nothing. How many thousands is that pissed up the wall? Season ticket prices have risen slightly. Would Townsend's wages till his contrsct expires have covered the rise?
Yes but the leaks of information that Chris did were potentially damaging to the club as well. Leaking transfers before they're signed potentially could cost us a player for example. And didn't he absolutely slate the club captain in leaks about his behaviour? That was damaging.
Then perhaps it's time that footballers grew up, acted like civilised adults and were treated like adults. Hit somebody at work and you get sacked, there really shouldn't be any defending it. I indeunders that wasn't the point of your post but it's still the truth. I agree with you though that fans shouldn't be leaking any sensitive information just to make them feel better about themselves
I think that if players are fighting between themselves as admitted by the head coach things are not quite right . Im not looking for something thats not there , I am just stating facts not fiction . You can dress it up as you wish .
Rather than it being a leak from a club employee, is it not possible that it was simply a fan (or a number of fans) who saw the incident? I've been to watch training a couple of times. Not something I'd usually do but a friend of mine used to take his son and I went with them. If I'd seen such an incident I'd probably (definitely?) tell my other Barnsley supporting friends and family. Not to undermine anyone or to appear in the know, but because it's something I know they would find interesting. I'd pass on the story whether I was fully behind the manager or not. If it was David Watson who'd hit Neil Redfearn and broken his hand during Danny Wilson's tenure, I would have still told my friends. I'm sure they would have talked about it too. Don't think there's necessarily anything sinister in it.
I think the vast majority of us will have. But I'm willing to bet only a tiny fraction of us will have gone so far as to have hit the person we've argued with. Not since we were in primary school anyway.
It is slightly different than the normal workplace as football is a contact sport & its not uncommon for an incident on the training ground to escalate & flare up , indeed allegedly Winnall & Foristearri had a spat at hillsboro which resulted in Sam getting shipped out , but by & large these things blow over & are kept in house , however , once these things hit the social media circus you can bet the local press will soon follow & the rest as they say is history , so I fully understand what the point the OP was trying to make when he started this thread
That might be how it has been told from the person who has heard it 4th hand, to give the story more legitimacy. "My mate Bob who knows someone who works at the club" is given a lot more credence than "Me mate Baz sez". But that's not necessarily how it began at the beginning of the chain of Chinese Whispers.
Got pushed and swung back to the stomach. Not hard enough to break my finger mind you but still, heat of the moment got the better of me
