What a furore! They don't like to let you go do they?

Apparently, if you phone them every 12 months they will revise your package and offer you a better deal, so I asked why has it taken me to cancel for them to tell me this?

She says they have millions of customers and they can't possibly tell everyone. I ask why not? They bombard us with emails on a regular basis when trying to get us to buy more stuff.

Very well scripted stuff from her, but I still left.

    I did, last year, too.
It just felt like I was getting pick pocketed by them every couple of months. So erratic with their charges and billing.
Now with Virgin which is definitely not as good as Sky, but at least I know how much I am paying every month.
Why not just have a fixed fee for each service instead of your mates in the pub telling you they pay far less for better package, free sports channels etc.

Because when you phone and get a new price they get you on a new contract and keep getting your money for the next x months.

Forgot to mention. I get £100 cashback though Quidco for joining BT as well.

They're also giving out an Xbox or 42in LG smart tv with some packages.

You're right, though I fully understand how it works.
But at least twice they overcharged me to the tune of 30 or 40 quid, for no additional services, then when you ring them to query it, they basically say 'well spotted, we'll knock it off next month's bill for you'. No joke.
It was like I was lending money to a multi-billion pound organisation. Worse still, when you spend two hours on the phone complaining, that costs you a bloody fortune too!!

The whole sales patter is well scripted, and it's based around them dropping little bombs to make you doubt your own judgement.

I love a good bit of Quidco cashback. I find it amazing how many people still don’t use them or TopCashback.

Similarly, have you heard of Airtime Rewards? It’s a similar thing but is money off your phone contract/top ups if you still do such a thing. Fully above board and legit, there’s an article here explaining about it: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/deals-hunter/2019/07/airtime-rewards/

The best thing is they are currently offering 10% cashback on every Morrisons shop above £30 (1% on shops cheaper than that). I don’t think I’ll ever have to pay a phone bill again at this rate!

Good decision. With the amount of alternatives Sky tv is irrelevant.

I always check with them before I buy anything. Had a few hiccups when I first joined Quidco, but since then I've had quite a bit back.

I’m up to just under a thousand pound with them now but that’s because I book all holidays through Expedia now and they give 12% cashback (plus all other big payments such as various insurances, contracts etc). I edited after you replied so you might want to see my post about Airtime Rewards.

I'm Sim only these days, but cheers! I'll have a look at the other stuff, we normally do our weekly shop at Morrisons.

I was paying £84 per month just for sky TV. No broadband and no phone. I've been with them 7 years.
