Keef and Rochdale just seem to fit. He's done well for them and in turn seems to have a job for life. Fair enough.
In the same way that I could be a half decent goalkeeper if I could catch a ball. Or Flugelhornist, if I knew what a flugelhorn was. Sadly I don't think he's got it in him. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Credit to Keith where it's due. Didn't work here for him really and had a tenancy to alienate people with his 'I can't do no wrong', but the job he's done at Rochdale is fantastic, and proof that with the right man in charge, and with a bit of patience in said person to put together a squad over a long period of time, you can achieve success above your remit. I wouldn't back against Keith to take Rochdale into the championship in that time. It could take him the entire 5 years, but I certainly think he's more likely to take them up than down. Also, he must have finally ran out of ex players to sign Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Hill used the tactic of downplaying expectation to try and protect his players. Sadly he misjudged the Barnsley mentality and that the only people allowed to tell us we're overachieving is someone from Barnsley. And once it started to unravel at pace he'd no capital to call upon with the fans. I note its not been commented that Hecky has said overachieve several times in interviews. The difference being he uses it sparsely and interlaces with hope and pragmatic ambition. And he's from the right side of the pennines!
And Andy Ritchie got the sack for saying.. But Hill was never going to last here after Dale fans said he wasn't able to take criticism.. and so proved, going to war with the fans
At Rochdale he'll not be able to bring in a ton of loans that's not needed and keep changing the team every week for the hell of it, he's stuck with his small squad and some managers are better that way
