Having a tough time at Villa. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/04/1...help-james-brees-cause-at-aston-villa/page/1/
I'm sorry to say it but I'm not in the least surprised. Like many others before him this could turn out to be a move too soon. Another year or two developing with us would have been a better option, in my opinion at least. IF we got something like £5 million for him then it was a steal. I liked the fact that we had brought another player through our Academy but I can't say that I rated him too highly as a defender. Some said he would be better than John Stones. I somehow doubt that.
Who gives a monkey's? He chose his bed so he'll have to lie in it. We should put a cheeky bid of £100,000 for him in the summer.....
Fulham will have given most defenders nightmares this season. Wonder if we might get him back on loan next season? Might be a good move for his development. It's not like he'd played that many games for us.
Still work in progress at 19 years old. Could be even tougher for him next season as villa will strengthen and look to getting promoted, so if he's not up to scratch he'll possibly be loaned out. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I agree but he doesn't stay fit long enough so we did the right thing letting him go. I'd not bother wanting him back on loan either if the opportunity came up.
If I weren't such an admirer of Bree's talents I would suggest that in this instance, it was the Dr who had had his pants pulled down for a change.
He already turned down Man U when he was younger to stop with us. It's all very well saying he should have stopped with us a bit longer but it's hard to know when that is when you're the person directly involved. He may feel he'd already done that by turning down Man U and that now is his chance. He may have thought it was a sensible move going to another Championship club as he was already becoming a regular at that level (so kind of a sideways move) but one with probably more prospects of making it back to the Premier and giving him a chance at playing at the highest level. It may turn out that he should have waited slightly longer but I think it was good on him for backing himself and taking his chance now, who knows whether he'd have got injured or whatever and his chance may have been lost. He didn't go to a top Premier team where he was guaranteed to be bench warming and be happy to do that, he's gone to a club that is willing to give him a go and now he just needs to prove to them that he can do a job for them. He gave us everything he'd got whilst he was here with us in return for our development of him, he got us a nice amount for selling him and he's gone somewhere where he has a chance of first team football. I wish him all the best.
According to that he's had to wait a month for an appearance, and then it was against Fulham who are brilliant at dissecting defences. A player who I think gets more secure the longer his run in the team. Bit harsh on the lad.
