    Yes.
I don't like these half a season loans.
If he plays well and becomes an important player in the team - it will cause disruption if he goes back.

Really don't understand why we need 9 midfielders. All of which who are around the same level as each other.

But, a trust ar gaffer so let's see.

What sort of midfielder is he?

If he's a central attacking midfielder then yes I agree it's a bit of a waste of a signing.

If he's more of an enforcer, or a winger then we are a little light in these 2 areas so another signing wouldn't go amiss.

    Doesn't say in the article.

Most on here have been crying out for another defensive midfielder! He is described on Evertons site as a tough tackling midfielder so I am guessing this is why he is being signed!

I've just found out he's a scowen type tough tackling midfielder. I like that. Search him on Google and search jo Williams red card! Now that's a tackle.

He's a box to box central midfielder according to numerous articles I've just read online. Very highly rated though by the looks of things. I'd be quite happy to see him down here. No 2 players are the same, similar yes but I trust if he has signed he will bring something to the team.

Or look at it in a positive way, he puts in superb performances, we get valuable points on the board for what has to be our first target safety.

As others have said, if he's more defensive or box-to-box then can understand the signing. Particularly if we intend to ease McGeehan in gently and/or play Mallan on the wing on occasions. Also, whether Sessi is ready for the first team still seems under debate. Rated very highly indeed - apparently made the first team bench towards the end of the season.

I am sorry, but, I just can't get excited about loan signings, developing players for short term gain only for another sides benefit

Suppose some cover won't hurt if needed but can't see him being a regular unless there are injuries.

Would've liked to have seen Jared Bird and Josh Kay given a chance if needed but perhaps a loan move away for them to a League Two or National League club would be good

I can see your point, but as has been repeated several times - it gives us the opportunity to get a player who would usually be out of our price range for practically free. And even if the player only comes for 6 months they can have a huge and more long-lasting impact on our success just as Fletcher, Isrgove and Brownhill did. I would love to just have permanent signings, but realistically if a player of high quality is available, if only for 6 months, I'd rather he came here than elsewhere.

Looks likely he will be midfield enforcer we only really had Sessi. Past Everton under 21 player of the season which equals quality to me.

Loans equate to far better quality for less risk and outlay. This gives the club the opportunity to be competitive in an league which is clearly unfairly biased with the money in football.
