if Villa are promoted he might sign an extension if he doesn’t have to play against Chelsea. What an absolute childish thick tw@t he is. And best of all Steve Bruce is prepared to go along with this. I really really hope Fulham win now.

Not getting your point here. If I were Steve Bruce I'd be very happy with that.

You think players picking and choosing who they’ll play against is ok? I assume he’ll still want paying those weeks. Also
Not playing in those games is surely unsporting and gives Chelsea an unfair advantage assuming he’s happy to play Man City, etc.

You're right, players should not pick and choose who they play against and they should be professional enough not to demand it as part of their contract. It would be chaotic if every player did this.

John Terry is experienced enough to know better but I'm not in the least bit surprised.

He needs to remember who are paying his wages.

I don't think simply being reluctant to play against his boyhood and lifetime club constitutes 'picking and choosing'. And I can't think JT's presence against Chelsea or Man City will have much bearing on things at this stage in his career. On the other hand, if Villa are to survive their return to the Prem (assuming they win on Saturday) then I think he could be massive for them at the other end of the table. The guy was awesome at Oakwell and I like that he had the humility and the love of playing the game to help Villa out this season. But hey - each to his own.

John Terry is by no means a perfect man not do I think he has ever claimed to be. I don't see how a almost childlike love for "his" club is such a bad thing though. He clearly holds Chelsea in such high regard, good for him.
If Villa aren't happy with the terms they don't have to agree to it do they.
After the stick Hecky has taken for you going to Leeds it's interesting to hear some people aren't happy if people are loyal either.

If Andy Yiadom had captained us to the premiership he could have picked two games to miss for all I care.

I get your point and dont disagree, but the £100,000 a week he's reportedly been paid probably had a lot to do with it too.

He insisted he was subbed in the 26th minute in his farewell game for Chelsea. Surprised he's not insisted Villa play Chelsea on the 26th of the month.

Compare & contrast with Iniesta's humble departure.

if he donates his wages for those weeks to charity I might just agree with you, bet he doesn’t though. Want to know why? Because he’s a money grubbing classless melt.

Don't really know enough about the bloke to judge him on that level. But if Villa think its a good deal then that's up to them.

He's not a money grabber. He stayed loyal to one club missing out on countless signing on fees. When he was arguably the best defender in the world, he could have probably doubled or even trebled his Chelski wages with his pick of the best teams in Europe. If he was all about cash he'd have also gone to China instead of dropping a division.

Neymar has missed a game 4 years in a row. Coincides with his sisters birthday.

Terry is a self absorbed numpty. Like Neymar.

Loyalty is a piece of pi55 when you're a multi millionaire earning £200k per week.

He's probably had multiple chances to earn double that or near enough through his career. He'd have had better offers than Villa but dropped a league for the challenge. I couldn't see a top championship player dropping to play for us. I do agree he's a dick though, especially for the Wayne Bridge situation.

Quite amusing that he's been more loyal to Chelsea than his own bloody wife.

Terry is a narcissist. His (well funded) "loyalty" is not loyalty in the true sense, but rather an entirely self-interested desire to be regarded as a legend.
