No the winner will be whoever offers the most, as we would only accept the higher offer (unless he has a release clause).

The only issue is a 500k release clause.

    Surely not.

Surly we have learnt not to insert these release clauses by now lol.

500k is not only too low an amount for the player but it would pIss off A lot of fans and make us look a soft touch again at a time when I thought we had started to shake off that rep.

Surley the club wouldn't have gave it the big licks "we don't need to sell our key players in january unless we get stupid offers" if winnall had a 500k release clause... Brentford are said to be interested to replace Scott hogan who they just got 15 million for. I'd be saying to them 4 million or you'll have alot of comptition to sign him in the summer. We got 6.5 million from john stones we got 6 for Mawson who we have replaced with agnus for 100k james bree I belive will leave for 4 million we really don't need to sell

Would have thought if he had a release clause at that amount someone would have activated it at least 12 months ago. I doubt we would let a division four signing put a 500k release clause in his deal when it's not even that much more than we paid for him.

Leeds offered £300k, and were turned down. No mention of any clauses at that time.

Could be that the clause was in his contract when he signed from Scunny almost three years ago. In league one.

I agree with this. I think the flaw in our plan is that after season one with the player if he proves his worth, we should extend, and increase the release clause etc. The problem we have now is we have left key players without a renewal of their contract early and the existing contract is out of date with the current market demand plus their worth.

Ah well. I think the club will know the position and surely will have a plan B ready to trigger. Turnover of players, good or bad is simply part of the game and a managers challenge.
