Personally haven’t got a problem with this guy. Think he’s doing as well as you can considering he’s got a below par squad in a difficult situation.

He’s tried to play more attacking football. Can speak the languages of all the players. And he’s tried to be positive about everything.

Fans have asked for Hammill, McCarthy, Mallan to play and he has listen and given them a go.

His substitutions yesterday made sense for me considering what options he had available and I don’t think team selection has been that bad either.

He also put time aside to thank the fans in his interview after the game.

I think he needs to be given more of a chance fans were very patient with hecky. Morais needs the same support.

I would have given it another 5 mins with the first subs as we were creating a bit of pressure at the time and the crowd were getting more vocal. The subs took the sting out of that, summat an oppo manager would have done.

He's taking us down. We are in a lot worse position than the previous manager and the squad is stronger too.

I just wish he was more positive. The amount of points dropped from winning positions is so frustrating.

Good post that! It seems to me that looking at the wider picture the teams performance level is improving. Yesterday we scored 2 goals from open play and could easily have had up to 5 with luck/more clinical finishing. The team put up a spirited performance in a developing 4-3-3 system and created very good chances. It was also clear that all the players were fully committed to the cause. It was a game we could and should gave won and it should have been put to bed well before conceding in the final few minutes.

But at least we are making these chances and looking like we can compete and win. I felt after yesterday that it's possible for us to pick up the points we need from the remaining 7 games and I hope we can continue that level of performance on Monday. If we can we have a very good chance of a win.

I'm far from convinced by him at this point in his tenure.

PH was taking us down and if he hadn’t jumped ship to Leeds then I highly suspect that he would’ve been given the boot before the end of February.

PH’s tactics were very negative and whilst JM is criticised for playing McBurnie high and wide a lot seem to ignore that PH routinely played players out of position.

The amount of points dropped by PH from winning/drawing positions is also criminal.

This notion that the squad is stronger is ridiculous.

We’ve created many more chances than we were under Paul Heckingbottom and scored in every game bar one - no idea where this negative charge comes from.
    Perhaps you could explain?

I agree that Hecky was negative - but I would add that he didn't have the players to to play the formation he prefers. Hence Bradshaw up front on his own.

Perhaps Morais doesn't have the players he wants either, but he certainly has a stronger squad than Hecky did.

Hecky had most success with 442 - but there's no way he could play that with Ugbo and an unfit Thiam alongside Bradshaw.

The fact remains that we are in a worse position under Morais than we were under Hecky. I hope he turns it around but I fear the worst.

The clear the air discussions or whatever they were saw our lads competing to the death, with a few out on their feet, we have done this earlier in the season without the result matching the effort.

Monday comes quickly and I would be surprised if we can match anywhere near that amount of effort so soon. Think we could see a poor performance Tomorrow. Hope not like or maybe we could get one of those flukey wins that others have managed against us.

    You Reds.

    Mcburnie.
    Moore.
    Mills.
    Gardner now match fit.
    Thiam now match fit.

Of course it's stronger. The only player to leave who made a difference was Barnes.

Could you please tell me how the squad is weaker? Is Barnes better than McBurnie and Moore combined?

We are improved by one player. We still don’t have a midfield two owt like to enable a 442

Where we we when he ran away? 3rd bottom wasn’t it?

I didn’t say it was weaker. Gardner has been fit for months, Thiam not up to it, Mills injured and likely as lot won’t be seen again

Still weak as piss in midfield, defence and in the net.

Some people criticised him yesterday for taking off a centre forward and replacing him with a right back. But infact Moore was cramping up and asked to come off. McCarthy took up the right hand position of the front three with Hammil switching to the left and McBurnie going central. Seemed a sensible switch.
Others criticise him for being 'negative' but at 2-1 and time running out game management comes into play. Also the losing team is pretty well bound to throw players forward which we have to respond to.

I don't see the manager did anything wrong yesterday. The team just didn't put away enough of the many chances created to sew up the game.

4th bottom then on a horrific run with no guarantee he would have been able to change it.

Just don’t get what he got months of support and context and Morais gets EIGHT ******* GAMES

We have lost Barnes and McDonald.

We have gained everyone mentioned in my previous post.

Correct. And for what feels like the millionth time when it mattered the keeper and defence were not up to the test
