The back page article on JM`s response to our current plight does not fill me with confidence. I read it as " the players need to be better". No mention of needing to find another way or we will work on finding a solution to our current predicament. I`m expecting more of the same tactics which worries me a lot.
Squad simply not good enough imo, we'll probably go down and Jose has a opportunity to rebuild with his own signings in summer
More likely both although the same (more or less) bunch of players have won 7 games in 38 which indicates they just aren’t quite good enough despite what you claim
Whilst I agree Jose needs to start playing to our strengths, we've won 2 out of the last 26 games. The players must bear some responsibility for that. It's not the manager that misses presentable chances or decides to make a laughable defensive/goalkeeping error every game.
So how come the players did not perform under the previous manager who had input on their recruitment ? Its obvious that the plight we are in is not down to Jose , the players must take the responsibility & only they are the key to putting it right
They won't be his signings though, it'll be the old spreadsheet again. Can't wait for another three number 10s to come in.
The spreadsheet will continue to be a useful tool, when someone learns that you can filter the results by position.
The point of my opening post was that on the basis we have the same squad of players to pick from something has to change from the way we set up / the tactics of the last home game. We`re playing a superior side to Millwall and the same team/tactics will give us the same result.
Nowt like stating the obvious. Football people have a real knack for it. Some even earn loads of money for stating the obvious on telly.
I don't think the Millwall performance was half as bad as some are making out. Yes it was poor, but no more so than the games it followed in that we had more possession and goal attempts than the opposition but nothing to show. Lindsay, Moore and Moncur all had attempts pushed round the post, Thiam had a shot saved and Mcburnie had one scooped off the line. I've only missed two games all season, and I've seen plenty of games where I'd have loved for us to force 5 saves in 90 minutes.
I thought we were in this position because of what has happened all season not last saturday , sorry I didn"t realise & no I do not blame the coach for last saturday as there is no way in the world that a coach can take the blame for the calamity of a goal like Millwalls first , you set the team up all week but you cannot legislate for an error like Mallen made for their first goal, which made a big difference to the game , our confidence drained both on the pitch & on the terraces whilst Millwalls grew & the second goal although a great strike by Marshall , he was allowed to run & take the shot unchallenged with players just backing off , once again down to the players & not the coach . At the end of the day , Jose will either survive or fall on the sword , whilst the players will simply move on after performing poorly for both coaches this season
