'it's time to put ya money where ya mouth is'

Don't get me wrong, I'd love Scowen to sign a new contract with us but his dad is a bit cringy with the stuff he posts publicly on twitter.

His dad has previous for posting stuff simialr to this! Remember the Hamill / Scowen shirt number situation when he openly slagged off the club his son is contracted to play for!

Reminds me of some of the parents when my lad played junior football.

It was always those that had never played that were the loudest and most pushy.

    Wonder if he played?

Leave it out. It's just a proud dad. He's probably had a few drinks. Give me people like the Scowens all day. Proper people. No *****. Say it like it is.

He's right. Let's start actually trying to keep these boys together.

I don't think any player wants to leave I just think they want paying a wage relivant to the league they are in and the superb performances they are capable of

I'm guessing Josh is'nt one of the top earner in the current setup. Why shouldn't his dad think he's worth an upgrade on a new contract. At least it doesn't sound like he's wanting away, just a bit of financial recognition for what he's doing.

Sorry but it's not on. The club need to take Josh to one side and tell him that what his Dad's doing on twitter isn't on and isn't good for Josh at the club. Josh should be telling him to shut it too.

Go back to bed. What's not on is a Barnsley "fan" who belittles, mocks, criticises players who are doing our team proud.

I love Josh's dad a proper character. He's got a point as well but Josh should probably tell him to wind it in a bit.

Not sure Twitter is where peoples contacts should be discussed. Im sure there would be a different opinion if the club started commenting on player contracts on twitter.

Having said that i opened a thread a couple of weeks ago asking if we could compete with salaries at this level. This is now the real test. We have money in the bank and transfer fees aint the issue. Can we pay enough to keep the team together and quality we have right now. So far the answer seems no

I think we know the answer...

Ive no problem wi josh's dad... this clubs predicament this transfer window is solely its own fault... It seems to want to be a champ club for the perks but not the costs

Exactly, there's going to come a time when we need to start paying the going rate or as near as we can do. CH isn't going to get 30k from us so he will be off but Scowen, Watkins, Davies etc are all worth 10k maybe and if we don't pay it someone else will pretty quick

Fecking hell it's too early on a sunday to be agreeing with you. Love Scowen, hope he stays but if I was in his position i'd be like dad you're embarassing me stop having little digs at my employer because stuff like that should be kept quiet. It's fair enough him praising his performances, retweeting praise but I don't agree with putting in the public domain contract stuff.

Isn't Scowen a big enough lad to stand up for himself. If I was him, I'd be embarrassed.

If we pay league 1 wages and transfer fees in the championship ... the bubble will burst, And back in L1 where we'll not only be, but belong.

He's free to say what he wants and I can understand him pulling for his lad, but I'm not really sure it serves any purpose. Not even sure who he's aiming the comments at. Probably better writing a letter :)

That said Scowen and others do deserve another contract.

We don't know if he is embarrassed. I certainly would be but fortunately my Dad wouldn't behave like that even if he knew what twitter was
