if derby are having a similar problem then why don't the 2 clubs refuse to play on Tuesday night and really shaft the efl ( it is THEIR cup after all) until they get their fingers out and get it sorted
Because that won't sort anything and the EFL will just give both teams a fine/points deduction. Why do we think the problem is with the EFL? Presumably they have rules that everything has to be lodged by a certain time, and due to a ****-up at Tarn/Swansea it didn't happen.
If the relevant information wasn't submitted on time then that's it, case closed. We've presumably appealed the original decision and the appeal has been dismissed. The rules are there for a reason. If the EFL, FA or whoever else start relaxing the rules then it would quickly descend into chaos and result in incredibly protracted litigation. Calling for the Club to bring itself into disrepute over a missed loan signing is madness, imho.
why did the drinkwater signing go through ? and I seem to remember arsenal signing a player 24+ hrs after deadline day. and surely Swansea should be sanctioned it was their ****-up apparently everything was hunky dory at our end
It can only be due to Swansea not giving the green light until (after) the eleventh hour. We were ready to go in May, and the EFL's rules about timings haven't changed. We have a good relationship with Swansea, and that shouldn't change. But in situations like this we need to say deal by the end of the day before the deadline, or say, Noon on that day. Otherwise we are at their mercy, and have no time to sort any alternatives out. It's just one of those things, but we can learn from it.
The Drinkwater deal had absolutely nothing to do with the EFL, why would it? How does anyone know that it was Swansea's mistake? As far as I can tell neither the EFL, Swansea or the Club have confirmed which documentation, if any, arrived on time and which documentation was submitted or received after the window closed. Just because McBurnie signed the forms at Oakwell we in advance of the deadline doesn't mean that we were able to submit the relevant documentation on time after Swansea had given the go ahead.
As ive said it could be the wfa we simple dont know. We deserve a statement so that we have clarity before stones are thrown
Exactly. Seen a lot saying that it's x or y's fault. Maybe it's Barnsley's. Remember it was Barnsley that sent a transfer offer to a Fans Forum. That's one of the most stupid things i've ever read. A multi Million pound business sending a confidential document to the wrong place.
