Just had a thought about a change around in the stating 11 going forward so it frees Woodrow to play back up front. What about if we put Brown into Thomas’ position on the right of the diamond ?

    Radlinger

    J Williams - Halme - Andersen - Oduor

    Dougall

    Brown - Mowatt

    Ritzmaier

    Woodrow - Chaplin

You'd continue with Radlinger and Andersen after that shambles?

I can’t understand why we aren’t already doing this, given Brown is most effective when playing on the right.

I’ve put Radlinger on there because it’s obvious to me that Struber prefers him over Collins. I’d like to have a new centre half on over Andersen but I’m going off what we have at the club at present.

I think the work rate both Brown and Chaplin provides Struber likes but for me, Brown is better on the right of a midfield.

I can see your point but I think in the current formation the strikers are expected to split and run the channels. So Brown is effectively playing wide a lot of the time to good effect and the individual on the right of midfield (Thomas) actually plays in a narrower position. The idea is then that the player at the top of the diamond gets in the box (e.g. woodrow). For these reasons I would leave the top two as they are, particularly as they have been very effective as a partnership since struber took over and bring woodrow back into the tip of the diamond (no. 10 or whatever). I would then be tempted to drop Thomas, as although he works hard he does very little with the ball.

You do make a great point mate I see where you’re coming from. I think the only issue then is playing either Mowatt or Ritzmaier on the right of the diamond who are both left footed so we could still have the same issue of a player constantly looking to move the ball onto his preferred foot instead of trusting his weaker foot to make the pass or shot etc.

We got battered by Preston, so Struber needs to think how we'll get points against the likes of Blackburn, Forest, Brentford, nevermind Leeds. Ritzmaier looks like Mowatt's replacement when he leaves in the summer. Doesn't look to have the sharp pace needed to play in the hole. Glad Woodrow's back. Still need to sign defenders. Could we get a good young striker in on loan? Certainly need options on the bench. I like the idea of Brown playing in midfield, as a second half option if we need a goal. Worrying now as to where we'll get the points from to catch Huddersfield or Charlton. Be so good if Derby and Owls get a 21 pt deduction!

Yeah can see where you're coming from and maybe it is Thomas' reluctance to go on the right which is a bit of an issue and might also be an issue if mowatt of ritzmaier play there. I do think we would miss Brown's workrate up top though. Something definitely has to change folowing yesterday's preformance but I think the main issue at the moment is the defence. Desparately need a CB in.

Would be nice to have 2 CB’s in and get Halme back at CDM.

Leeds fans at work are amazed we've been playing him in the middle. They refer to him as Kylo Ren....

    - Collins

    Ludewig Sibbick Andersen Oduor

    Halme

    Brown Mowatt Ritzmaier

    Woodrow Chaplin

(Caveat that if we sign any centre backs they’d play over both and Ben W plays if Oduor isn’t fit.)

    Subs:

    Walton
    J Williams
B Williams (Styles if Oduor is unfit)
    Thomas
    Simoes
    Dougall
    Thiam

    Nowhere:
    Radlinger
    Cavare
    Bahre
    Diaby
    Schmidt

I don't think Chaplin is a striker at all he's just a plodder that's been on a purple patch.
