P.H last 12 games in charge. 6points scored 6 conceded 20 (not including losing 4-1 at Millwall in Fa cup) Jose first 12 games in charge. 10 points scored 15 conceded 20. Paul had the benefit of assembling and coaching his team since july. Jose somewhat thrown in to install confidence in a team with a losing mentality. Before being accused of being anti Hecky nothing could be further from the truth.I was a massive fan of his and our days in the sun will never be forgotten.I just feel jose or who ever else would have come in are on a hiding to nothing and are getting unfair treatment.
It's been desperately frustrating under Jose as we clearly look a better, more attacking side than Heckys last days, but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot at both ends. I honestly believe no-one else (realistic targets) could have come in and done much more. The players would still be making costly mistakes at either end no matter who came in.
Have you forgotten that Morais had the huge benefit of having Moore and McBurnie in the squad ? Yer know - those strikers (and more) that we needed in the summer of 2017 but didn’t get. Six new players were added in January. Some of them good player. Which ever way you look at this - Morais has fooked up BIG TIME
Defence was ***** and is still *****. Keepers were ***** and are still *****. Midfield was ***** and is still ***** We’ve scored more goals and continued to concede at the same rate
We needed to beat both Bolton and Burton at home. We got 1 point from those. Pretty unforgivable. I feel sorry for Jose. Seems a smashing chap and his loopy team selection is quite amusing. We are certainly a more entertaining team to watch under him but he isn’t/ wasn’t what was needed.
Our form under Paul heckingbottom after the norwich game away was abysmal. The only thing that was keeping us out of the bottom 3 was Sunderland hull Burton and brum couldn't buy a win. So it's hardly surprising his last 12 games have seen us get more points and far more goals. Problem is Birmingham have appointed a new manager who has got them playing. Hull brought some decent players in Jan. Which leaves us in the bottom 3 and jose has been poor chopping and changing line up like we have all season, strange starting 11, Bradshaw upfront alone against giant center halves like we have all season. We had chance to replace Paul heckingbottom with someone who would give us a lift and play to our strengths but failed.
Well playing Bradshaw as a lone striker against big 6ft odd pontus janson and leaving 6ft8 keiffer moore on the bench imo makes us a weaker team. Also I've seen arctic lorrys turn faster than matt mills so to play him at center back instead of pinnock also made us weaker. Changing The line up every game doesn't help us pinnock played the 2nd half against Bolton and did okay wasn't at fault for any goals but then is dropped. I'm also no a fan of defending a one goal lead which he has done alot over these 12 games.
Flip me.... we've actually got 10, yes TEN, points ??? I'll tell thee what, it certainly doesn't feel that many !
Do you think that starting 11 was okay? Would you have chose the same? Can you explain the logic of Bradshaw as a lone striker against one of the strongest center backs in the league?
This is going no where picking weaker players and leaving better ones on the bench and playing our 5ft nowt striker on his own against 2 big center half is more playing to our weaknesses.
The goals conceded indicates we were lacking in that department too.....Morais does appear erratic in his selections and subs but times are desperate and he’s trying what he thinks will work....as the op says, he was on a hiding to nothing before his first game
Some people have very short memories. There were numerous times under Hecky where we dominated the opposition - only to find we didn’t have enough quality in the strike force to score. Surely people remember those games ???!!! Then what happens - other team sees we can’t score - this builds their confidence - and they go on to win the game. I have come out of several games this season believing if we only had strikers that could have scored while we were on top we would have easily won that game. Those players are still there - and excellent strikers have been brought in to add to that squad - however the confidence of individual players has taken a nose dive since January. Why ???
It hasn’t happened nearly as much as you claim and certainly by the time we improved the striking options it was no longer happening
Mcburnie or moore aside hecky still chose to go with ugbo and marathon runner Bradshaw and let Payne go. He should have planned his squad better from the summer.
