Not seen it but at the time thought Gardner dwelled too long and should have got his shot in before the tackle came. Had the chance gone to Bradshaw I'm sure he'd have scored.
That's the point Mario that's all the ref has, he added to the drama by sprinting in to the penalty area looking as if he was giving the penalty.
I know we see some unbelievably bad decisions made by referees at Oakwell and they seem to happen far too frequently but I think he got it right yesterday. Like I said though I've only seen it once but if we can't agree on here when some of us have seen it several times then it's easy to see why a penalty wasn't given.
disagree, got the ball for me first. Very close call but i wouldn't be happy if it was given against us.
I thought it was a nailed on penalty at the time. I've watched it on the highlights. It still looks like a foul to me. It's difficult to tell, but when you see the slow mo, it looks like their lad kicks Gardners foot into the ball. It's not the best angle, and their players tackle seems to correlate with the movement of the ball, but so does Gardners body also, and I think he's just ahead of their defender. I still think the referee felt it was a foul at the time and bottled it. It's the only reason in my opinion for the delayed 'squat' that he did. You've got to remember though, we've collectively had hundreds of looks at it and we're split. The ref gets 1.
I haven't seen it, but their player made a meal of being injured in the challenge, before doing the injured soldier walk to the touchline where he got tigged alive and then ran around like a spring chicken again.
It was an outstanding tackle, but you'd have seen it given at t'other end, said the cynical old *******.
I think the split on here and people having seen replays just shows it was a tough call. And the ref only saw it once and if he had doubt then he can't give it.
From Ponty End to Gardner’s left it looked 50/50, on highlights which are more similar to ref’s view then Gardner was taken out first. Shocking decision but tbf I’m used to them by now.
