Scored two headers, played well but the goals were a fluke in respect of if those balls hadn't landed on his head but someone else's he'd not have been specially remembered from that game. Credit to him, but wasn't the same sort of incredible dominating performance that KO put in v Chelsea, the sort he never got even 10% close to in the league.

He just wasn't good enough, simple as that. I never thought he was lazy, just out of his depth.

Simon Davey said to me - if we can get Kayode doing half what he does in training then we have a player that's worth millions.
I told Kayode that - he was pleasantly surprised.

I've never seen a better athlete in a Barnsley shirt.
But he was unable to make it count where it mattered.
Wembley springs to mind - chuffing sitter!!!

I chatted to him in the Autumn of the Bassett season. Said he was really enjoying playing again after an awful year "without a proper manager" as he put it. Said Hendrie really struggled to make the transition from being everybody's mate to being the boss. As a result he tried to be a disciplinarian, and it completely backfired, losing him everyone's respect.

For some reason I've just had a vision of Kris Akabusi signing for the Reds......

Never mind throw ins, she could be the presence up front we've been missing. Any defender would know they'd been in a proper battle with Fatima.

I always thought he was the perfect player for Barnsley to have on the bench - especially when we were defending a 1 goal lead.

We always let a goal in in the last 5 minutes - and sit back for the last 25 minutes with 21 players in our half. If a manager put Kayode on from 70 minutes with fresh legs the opposition always had to put 2 defenders on him - **** finisher or not he was so fast and so strong they couldn't afford to give him space.

This tactic - in every game he was on - relieved the pressure from our defence and allowed us a bit of breathing space.

I'm just astounded he wasn't kept on just to do that and only that.

Cheers mate, kind of confirms other stories( lars lees book being one source) of hendries short lived reign, going from class clown to Mr strict was never going to work, sithi.

Watford away 3 days after wembley. I think you'll find that was the best Odejayi performance in a reds shirt.

He was a Conference standard player.

I don't know if he does but along with many others I do. How I wished it would have been Nardiello. We'd have probably
beaten them after extra time and got to the final. I was gutted.!

I'd have preferred it if it had been Luke Steele.

Anybody else hear the rumour that Super John and Clint Marcelle squared up to each
other in the changing room when during a team talk John told Clint to remove the cap
he was wearing.! Someone told me but I can't remember who it was.

My wife was once going into the Co Op in Dodworth, just as Kayode Odejayi and Miguel Mostto were walking out. She knocked Kayode flat on his back, causing Mostto to double up in laughter!:D Kayode was very apologetic, wanting to make sure Crystal was okay, whilst she was reciprocating with him. He was never a Championship striker, but he was, and probably still is, a thoroughly decent bloke.:D
