Tonight. Given Burton's tactics were to stop us playing we could have changed things up, gone more direct and looked to play off Moore. Hope he's back fit soon.

Exactly this. Would have been a different game with Kieffer I reckon. Jacob was struggling today too but our only option was to put Victor on who is also inexperienced.

Agreed, they bullied us tonight, had that experience and nous, hope our youngsters learn from it.

Should have signed another striker in January, hope it doesn't cost us.

Didn't we loan out our signing?

Don't think we had any choice, something to do with Middlesbrough not having a recall on his loan.

I think you're right which made it strange that he was our only signing up front.

Indeed, we needed another striker at the start of January & we still needed another one at the end.

Hence why there was no point in us signing him. Ridiculous.

I disagree, I thought Burton played a very high line to squeeze the space between the midfield and the defense, this was very effective as witnessed by our midfield being totally ineffective. In my opinion to beat a team playing deep you want the big lad to hit and lay off balls, against a team playing a high line you need some one fast AF to make angled runs in the space behind the defense and the keeper and get the ball to him early. We didn't have a plan 'B' - plan 'A' is to play football and pass the team out of position, when this doesn't work against a high line 4-5-1 you really need to have some pace in behind - a perfect game for Green in my opinion, but he wasn't on the bench, we just made like for like substitutions. Poor tactics from us, brilliant from non-league Nigel.

Agree. Pretty much a repeat of last season’s game in many ways too.

Plus they made us kick long from the Keeper, which didn't help. As a result everything congested in midfield.
That said, just one break away from resolving it. Cauley had a good chance, as did Brown. Fine margins, and today's game is nothing to get depressed about.

We're relying on two excellent first choice strikers to see us through. Should one or both not be able to play or not be on form, such as now with Moore, we're then down to playing wingers or young Victor up top. Another forward in January was clearly needed and that would have been still been true had we put three past Burton tonight.

Trouble with that is you can't really attract anyone to come and be 3rd choice - they'd essentially be Adam Jackson but up front.

We've got probably the best strike force in the division, so you can't really entice anyone to come and benchwarm on the off chance of an injury.

Not going to help us this season though. Other than if he scores goals for Bradford against our rivals. We needed someone for the here and now.

Kieffer should be back hopefully for our next game against them. I think that will hopefully be a better game for us.
