I thought we looked a different proposition when he came on today. So glad to see him back. If he hadn't been injured I reckon we would have been up by now.
As soon as he come on we started getting on top.Hes such a awkward so and so. It forced their defenders to defend as opposed to start off attacks. I agree, if he hadnt got injured we would have won the league but thats football.
We really should have scored straight away. Moore pressed their defender and we poured forward. Think Woodrow ended up blasting high wide and not so handsome. Moore also had a shot blocked and pulled one back that their defender made a right hash of. Should have taken advantage, but I think Pinillos smashed it into the Ponty.
Difficult to believe we'd have had a better run of results than we had (only losing one game) had Kieffer been available
Yeah it was, I commented on it at the game at the time. Must have been quite a moment, psychologically for him
Quite a few of them were 0-0, and we looked pretty toothless in comparison to earlier in the season. It's obviously all hypothetical, but I could well imagine him being involved in us grabbing a couple more over those matches. We wouldn't be up, but four more points wouldn't be out of the question. With that we'd be a hell of a lot more comfortable. Edit: Actually, ignore me. Only been three draws while he's been out I think, two of which were 0-0.
Kieffers return is a real shot in the arm as far as I'm concerned. I'm hoping he starts on Monday at Plymouth. Prior to the Shrewsbury game, I was of the opinion that we could win our four remaining games. With the return of the big fella , that belief has certainly been bolstered. Between them, Kieffer and Cauley can hopefully capitalise on the fact that two of our remaining fixtures are against teams below halfway in the league and that they can both get amongst the goals. When he came on yesterday, it was a relief to see Kieffer head the ball and thus dispel recent conjecture that he could be sidelined until next season. The only game that I'm a little nervous about, is our final home game which is against Blackpool who lie tenth in the division. If we can take maximum points from the three final games, I believe we will be set fair for automatic promotion, because I remain convinced that the teams in the chasing pack, will all drop points between now and the end of the campaign.
A team is built on its spine. All the other things are hung on the strength of it. Good example is the Clough teams. He would sometimes pay out for players along the spine. Keeper Strong centre back Solid midfielder Top striker Two of those positions have been out this season. Kenny Dougall Kieffer Moore We have missed Dougall massively - and we haven’t had enough strength in the squad to replace Kieffer. If those had kept fit - we would have been clear weeks ago. But I’m sure the owners will live and learn. And the new manager is getting used to the English leagues.
