Reportedly poised to leave Spurs and sign for Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £20 million. To be honest, thats a great move for the lad. Loved watching him when he was in the Red of Barnsley. Good luck Kieran.
Good luck to him, and fair play - not many English players dare to go abroad and test themselves in a different league.
If I remember correctly, he came to us on loan from Manchester City twice. First time for only a few games and then he came back for a longer spell and scored a couple of goals during that time. Sorry to see him go back really.
One that got away that lad. PC wouldn't pay the dosh to sign him (one of the reasons robins left). Would have made the club alot more once we sold him on. Hope he smashes it over there always tough for english lads to learn a new culture for some reason....
Says on talksport athletico are ultra defensive with fullbacks that don't cross the halfway line so he might want to revisit that one.
Wasn't the story I heard, although doesn't mean it isn't true. Didn't King Keef turn down the chance to sign Trippier as he wanted Wiseman instead? Isn't that how the legend goes?
I understood that we had an option to take Trippier on a permanent basis, but Keith wanted Wiseman instead. Definitely nothing to do with getting kick-backs from his agent who brokered the deal...
Up there with Eaden as one of the best RBs I've seen play for us. This will be a great move for him and our national side for him to experience another country. He's going to have to learn Spanish quickly as Diego Simone expects that of anyone that signs for them.
That’s a bit of a myth because they have to go more defensive against Barca, Real & against top European sides. They aren’t so negative week in, week out in La Liga
I don’t know if that’s ever been confirmed but it’s certainly the rumour that’s gone round. Not sure he would’ve ever chose us over Burnley anyway as they are closer to where he’s from & I think they paid bigger wages back then as well
