Going to Rapid Vienna? https://translate.google.co.uk/tran...nen-knasmuellner-und-rapid-einig/&prev=search
feel a bit sorry for the lad, probably wasn't his fault he ended up with us, maybe foisted on us by "ze higher authorities". Hope it works out for him if the deal goes ahead..... BUT.... I'd like to question the ones who got him in. WHY?
Hope we get a big chunk of money for him. His fitness and play making, apart from all his assists and goals, was invaluable over the time he was here. Not seen a better player for years... Or should that be can't ever remember seeing him?
You feel sorry for him ? Stay at Oakwell and play in the third division or go home and play for one of the biggest clubs in Austria . Oh aye it’s a real toughie that !
so who agreed he can go then? Daniel Stendel or Gauthier? Have they already gone through players he wants I wonder?
Maybe the player wants to go home for personal reasons. If he can't settle its in the clubs interest to let him go.We'll get our money back I would think.
I don't doubt the money side. Just hoping the management have already agreed on certain players, this being the first. Shame, I wanted to see him get a good go at it.
I would have given him a run of games his stats in Austria were superb and he actually got an assist at Cardiff away in about 30 minutes of the roughly 65 minutes he played for Barnsley F.C
If he leaves then this brings to the surface all sorts of questions about our recruitment policy. It looks like he wasn't good enough to challenge for a 1st team place at the time we signed him, and getting shut now means that he wasn't intended to be a developmental player for the future. In the middle of a relegation fight, the golden rule to stick to is to sign players who are better than the ones already here (or at least who are as good) so this one was essentially a waste of time and effort, alongside the two French players who decided not to bother. I hope whatever recruitment system that failed us so badly, after two awful transfer windows prior to this, is not going to be continued going forward. Knasmullner looks like being the next Phil Gridelet in the BFC history books, but it's the process that led to him being signed, and then almost immediately abandoned into obscurity which concerns me. At the very least, I hope Stendel has had some input into the decision to let him go, assuming that the story is accurate.
He didn’t look match fit to English League standards. That’s why he didn’t play much. I suggest he’s home-sick but also maybe not up for the fight to get to the level he needs to be at. Moving to R. Vienna seems a good move though for him - they’re a top team over there (or used to be). So he probably has done well over the last 6 months at the end of it all!
Stendel clearly wants to play pressing that requires high intensity, discipline and fitness. Perhaps he's not thought to be that sort of player so it's best he moves on. Plus Stendel may already know his game given he was playing just over the border in Austria.
I don't feel sorry for him. He cost us a lot of time and money to not be deemed good enough by those that saw him approx five days a week for about four months until the end of the season. Hope we get back what we paid and he realises he's wasted a big opportunity by not doing enough.
