Dee Dah reporting that a "small number" of Labour MP's are breaking away.

I guess Angela Smith has got to be the favourite from our area but none of our MP's are really socialists - more like liberal democrats.

I guess they wont' be wanting to start a new party as they will want to come back once democracy has been defeated again - but I doubt it will it make a difference with politics being so fecked at the minute

I’m a staunch remainer but these MPs are a disgrace imo.
We all have our views on Brexit and I think The party is wrong to rule out a second referendum , however it’s a party decision and whatever anyone else thinks it’s not Corbyns decision it’s not Keir Starmers decision it’s s party decision and that is what they should be backing .
The Labour Party is a Democratic Party not one group or person dictates policy it’s the members we have more democratic gears in place than any other party . The Tories are way behind in this .
If a breakaway happens I hope they lose all their seats , remainers or not the party is bigger than these people.

I’m guessing there’s a few who have no intention of standing at the next General Election regardless who might go , all the others have no chance of being elected as Independents or Tories will stay on sulking until Burnham returns

Good for them, I say. If these are the seeds of a competent centrist party (probably not) then at least I won’t have to choose between the crap that will be on offer at the next General Election.

It appears Teflon Teresa’s game of brinksmanship ship has finally borne fruit.

the waiting game of who would reveal their hand first has seen labour split rather than her own party. This whole Brexit **** shambles will go down in history, labour tear themselves apart whilst an incompetent shitshower of a government fiddles while Rome burns.

The issue is that Labour cannot call for a referendum on Remain/Leave until everything possible has not only been tried, but has been seen to be tried to bring about Brexit. When all avenues have been exhausted that could (and probably will in my view) happen. If they ask for that now they run the risk of alienating millions of Labour voters who wanted Brexit. These thick MP's just don't seem to understand that. Instead they're like petulant school children demanding their desserts when they haven't finished the main course.

And of course they're not even Labour, just Lib Dem/Tory neo-liberal remainders. Good riddance.

Thats a large chunk of the parliamentary labour party now.

Jarvis, Watson, Milliband, Cooper, Burnham - the list goes on.

suprised Chuka has thrown himself on the sword - didn't think he was ready to retire yet.

Antisemitism has been given as a reason as well because Israel is the only country in the world where you can have people calling you a racist for criticizing its politics or military actions.

I say well done to them. They are following their convictions and have had enough with Corbyn and McDonnell going against the memberships views of a second referendum, and Corbyns anti EU stance which is widely known.

Of course they'll be called all the names under the sun by some quarters of "labour"... and that kind of backs up why they've had to leave.

This isn't Labour anymore, it's a different entity and not one I've seen before.

Give over. To leave and see themselves as some sort of centrist party isn’t exactly representative of the labour voters who elected them. This labour, increased its vote share significantly at the last election il add.

Self serving springs to mind. Angela Smith for one must have something else lined up after the next election.

Vote share went up, seats hardly went up at all. So that shows existing seats increased numbers. I know a number of people who wanted to oppose Brexit voted labour, and they wont be repeating it when the next one comes down.

Not self serving at all. But its pointless trying to convince anyone who loves Corbyn, because they just cant see it. Meanwhile Labour will be wiped out at the next GE as they sat by and did nothing that its membership want. That's whats self serving, this outdated destructive Leninist, rule from the rubble approach.

The reality is that labour and conservatives are totally incompetent and broken. Libdems are nowhere and the SNP only have a Scottish platform. Vast amounts of people have no party to vote for. And I consider myself to be one of that number.

    Politically the UK is fked.
I now fully expect Ireland and Scotland to move ahead with annexing ties to England.
Brexit has opened a can of worms
