It’s a joke that you pendle the far right propaganda that Labour is now dominated by hard left ideologs , if anything the main problem within the party is that the far right ( now being called Centrists ) have been tolerated and pampered to

It would have to be properly divolved thoug because as of now London is trading off the rest of us .
By that I mean that London’s only contribution is that it is the capital of England and to an extent Great Britain .
It had nothing to offer in itself other than demanding everything be run from there because the govt / monarchy in the time of dictatorship is based there .
Some people think everything is in London because its such a great place etc . It isn’t it’s as I said a central base trading off the rest of us . The coal mines were mainly up north or wales etc but the controling element was in London and the reason because it’s our capital .
Because Thatcher took away our base of manufacturing and replaced it with services which are centric based London seems to think it can now live without us . It’s a case of we used you to grow now we’ve destroyed you we’re keeping everything fek you .

What's propaganda about any of that? Labour are run at a party level by McDonnell and Milne, and less so Corbyn because he generally can't be arsed and gets tired of detail, so bows out of it. Nothing other than truth about that. Labour cannot win a GE by shifting left. I never said far left, that was your interpretation. Scotland has gone. And it now no longer appeals to centrists. It doesn't appeal to pro EU voters. So where are the voters going to come from? Nothing made up about that, all seems very obvious if you apply some thought to it.

Fair play. I'd say that's a decent point and one good thing that's going to come from Brexit, albeit long term. The short term problem is that it's going to cost an arm and a leg after ten years of austerity, and I've got a horrible feeling that the south east will come off best out of all of it. Places like Richmond and Tonbridge will be fine somehow, whereas Barnsley and Burnley will have to carry on scrapping like hell.

Historically, the Celtic nations were always labour and prevented permanent full Tory governance. A solo England needs to be incredibly careful, and a Penistone (Angela Smith) that thinks it's posher than Barnsley can get ready.

My way of preventing things would be a significant change in how politics is structured, but I don't think that's what these seven people will achieve, or even are aiming to do.

I quite like London Marlon! But I'd agree with the thrust of what you're (correct spelling) saying. Having been involved through my whole working life with the capital and the South East generally, I've come to the conclusion that (except Football) the North of England cannot compete with the economic, financial, cultural, political bias (i don't mean that in a bad way) that is London and The South East. And unlike in earlier times there is absolutely no attempt, quite the opposite, from Westminster politicians. to address that situation. Other than farcical initiatives like the (non) devolution discussion that is currently taking place. Moreover I don't want to compete with London. I'd just like more control, more democracy and accountability over those things that impact on my life day to day. 'Proper' devolution would help provide that. That's where I'm in a bit of a dispute with some of the Brexiteers. 'bring back control from Brussels.' they shout. To where? Westminster. Please God - no - it has to come down much further imho.

I don't think anyone spent as long arguing the case for remain on here as I did, but I can certainly see that Jeremy Corbyn is in a very difficult position and one that requires a nuanced approach to Brexit. I rarely post these days but thought I'd point out a condescension to the north and the electorate might not be the best way to win people over to your point of view.

Split the left wing vote and Labour's fukd, with the likes of Corbyn and Abbott at the Helm Labours Fukd, Labour have the Tories on the Ropes and they still struggle to find Unity. A good Leader and Labour will win the next Election with a Landslide.

But now because of Corbyn, Mcdonnell, Milne and the moron Abbott, the Tories will rule for a THOUSAND YEARS.

What we actually need is a proper Yorkshire party. It would return about 15 MP's and hold the power. Whoever wants to form a government would have to buy us off with infrastructure spending and something like the Barnet formula the Scots gets for free tuition, prescriptions etc.

I hope Mike Steven Bähre starts again tomorrow night, he looked good on Saturday. Another goal or two for Woodrow is my prediction, plus an assist for Browny.

Brexit and Labour's demise has allowed the Tories to 'dodge a bullet'. Brexit, austerity and cuts to public services has had a negative impact upon the average person in UK and sadly Labour has been unable to provide an effective opposition. I am a socialist but I have to admit that under its current structure and leadership labour is unelectable. Times change and Britain is not the same as it was when Kier Hardy formed the party. We should be looking at Denmark. It has a multi party coalition government that is predominantly centre left (mostly social democrats of sorts), with not one party having overall control. This makes most of their political decisions consensual or in other words 'more grown up' in the way they get things done. Yes they have high taxes but they have the highest average wages in Europe ( minimum wage $18 an hour, by agreement with unions not law), the highest standard of living and has the most satisfied and happiest inhabitants in the world. What's not to like? Most of their politicians seem well blessed with common sense which is a novelty in itself. Common sense is like deodorant, those who need to use it most..... don't. Many of our politicians spring to mind.

All seven defectors want the people to be given another vote by way of a second referendum,
so obviously they don't agree with the democratic fact, that a majority of the electorate
voted to leave the European Union. I was listening to a political pundit earlier today and he said
that the actions of the seven Labour MP's was a ploy to attempt to frustrate Brexit in the hope we
don't leave. Like a lot of folks, I'm sick to the back teeth of the entire matter. There was a majority to
leave, so irrespective of any predictions either way, in my view, that needs to happen.
