    And in my opinion the club has been in freefall ever since. With every Johnson or Wilson signing we’ve lost we’ve replaced with ****€ players. Just like under Hill. What we need is experience and my moneys on Monk.

    Freefall is the last word I'd think of for going up a division and winning another trophy in the period under question.

    Things have been going wrong since last January, but LJ leaving was the best thing that could have happened at the time.

    A ten year old could have managed that team to the playoffs and a cup win. It was a case of carry on the way you were and how Lee has taught you to play. It’s when key players started to leave when Heckys job started.

    Couldn't disagree more. Hecky instilled a winning mentality into a team that Johnson had mis-managed. They were improving at the time, but if Johnson had stayed we'd have 100% been playing in League One the following season.

    A winning mentality.??They were on a 8 game unbeaten run when he left ffs. 6 wins and 2 draws (in the cup). I don’t think they needed much more motivation than that.

    We'd had one of them the previous season under Johnson too. It still didn't stop the 9 game losing streak including the loss at Altrincham from happening. Johnson would have been found out in the end. Ignore it all you like, but trying to disregard Hecky's role in that promotion is baffling, to say the least.

    It's a fact we'd improved before he left. I'm not sure how you can say from that we'd 100% have ended up in Division 2...
