I know that it's a foregone conclusion that he will never be released, I was stating he shouldn't have the right to appeal anything at all. It's all about opinions and I suppose you have yours and I have mine so fairy nuff I'll leave it at that as I exhausted myself on the Ian Brady thread were sensible debate turned sour..... Not saying that you would stoop that low like
All very admirable, and the legal system will be seen to hand out justice in as stronger way as possible. What happens besides that is others ideas of justice, fair play on that too IMO. What will be will be.
We are Kindred Spirits on such topics......agreed with you fully on the Brady thread that I started and agree with you fully on this one.
Read my reply. Nowhere did I say "wonderful USA"......they have a zero tolerance for terrorism and I like that. Many other things they get so wrong.......gun law being a good example of this.
If their justice is state sponsored killing then no. In this scenario, there is very little that can be done I feel that will ever serve justice to them as no matter what is done to Lee's killers, they will never get him back.
Death sentence would be the easy way out, put him in a prison equivalent to the main one in Bolivia (i'm just reading "Marching Powder"..) and each day cut a toe off him, then move onto fingers...
Sounds like he wasn't attacked by another inmate. Apparently lost his front teeth whilst being restraint by prison officers. Woolwich: Prison Staff Deny Adebolajo Assault The 28-year-old was injured at high security Belmarsh prison in south east London on Wednesday, where he is being held on suspicion of murdering soldier Lee Rigby. The Prison Officers Association (POA) said its members would challenge the allegations made by the prisoner. "We are aware of an incident that took place on Wednesday July 17, which involved a prisoner being subjected to restraint using approved techniques called Control and Restraint," it said in a statement. "Our members strenuously deny any wrongdoing and the POA will be supporting them legally and emotionally during this difficult time. "The use of restraint is only used where necessary when dealing with incidents up and down the country." It said it will fully co-operate with any police investigation, and expects the officers to be "fully exonerated". The prison officers' trade union also accused the Ministry of Justice of not doing enough to avoid what they described as "sensationalist reporting" of the alleged assault. The Prison Service has refused to comment on the detail of what happened, but the Met Police confirmed it was investigating an allegation of assault. prison. An investigation has been started." Adebolajo is accused together with Michael Adebowale, 22, of hacking Drummer Rigby to death near Woolwich Barracks in south east London on May 22. The pair are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on November 18.
I would say that as soon as you treat someone as being less than deserving human compassion then they have won. Will knocking his teeth out bring that boy back to life? no. Will beating him uo in jail lesson the horror of what he did? Yes, because the argument becomes that if the state can attack people in jail then who ae we to judge others? We become no better. Sound like a "do gooder"? I don't really care, treat everyone as a human and be judged on that, what other people have done or do, let them be judged by others. As my mother always said "never get into a fight with a pig, you will both get dirty, but only the pig will enjoy it".
