Moise Kean an 18 year old Italian of Ivorian descent scores a goal after being racially abused during the match between Juventus and Cagliari and folds his arms in front of the Cagliari fans. Bonnucci's response was not to support his team mate According to Football Italia, the defender said: “Kean knows that when he scores a goal, he has to focus on celebrating with his teammates. He knows he could’ve done something differently too. " He went on to suggest that the blame was 50-50 for what went on. “There were racist jeers after the goal, Blaise [Matuidi] heard it and was angered. I think the blame is 50-50, because Moise shouldn’t have done that and the Curva should not have reacted that way. We are professionals, we have to set the example and not provoke anyone.” Jesus.
I agree and Bonucci is out of line. However, on a separate but related point it's about time players started getting booked for inciting fans. Running past the opposing fans with your hand to your ear after you've scored etc. Blatant incitement. Players get ridiculous bookings for showing harmless emotion for ripping their shirts off after they've scored but winding up the opposition fans...not so much as a finger wag.
