I'd rather not think about that. We have a perfect ground as it is, and we have no need to re-locate.
Completely agree - I hate out of town grounds that are always difficult to get to - Brightons Amex is the worst example but anywhere we moved to would be more difficult than the current location. That and its our home - it has been for 128 years and I dont ever want to see it changed. I dont even want the West Stand rebuilt as its part of our heritage
I agree with you , but the question was IF, we all mostly agree that we have all we need at Oakwell. If a take over was to occur then it would just need a bit of a make over . However IF a wealthy new owner from overseas did happen to come then they may well look at Dodworth J37. It was actually looked into years ago. Another would be along the by pass near Birdwell at J36. I would be deeply sad if we did leave Oakwell mind.
all the west stand needs is a good make over By that I mean a complete re-fit NOT re-build I hasten to add. Maybe a new roof and the brick work steam cleaned and re-pointed. Coat of paint all round... Maybe somehow roof the concourse at the back to allow the spectators better pre match/half-time facilities. Better hygene facilities (sorry Dyson).... also a better facility for camera/commentary crew too
Re: all the west stand needs is a good make over Why do we need a new location to let our ground run down, we can do it from where we are thanks.
Re: all the west stand needs is a good make over In town centre, knock down the market and the ***** hole shops facing boots, and build a 14'000 seater their with wine bars and restaurants built into it.
Burnley......well it's as sensible a suggestion as anywhere else. If ever they relocated it would/could never be the same for me
10 years??? Anything can happen when you're talking about such a large time scale. We may have World War III, the planet might be hit by a giant asteroid, we could have seen another eight managers at the club, I may get off the settee!
No need for money to be wasted on a new ground when our current surroundings are more than good enough. Wouldn't find a better location than a five minute walk from the bus/train stations. If we moved it would have a big impact on town centre business too.
