    We need 4 centre halves. If we were to sign another I'd say we were replacing Robbo.

    Looking at the thistle board and fb pages lindsay is rated very highly. Many of them giving it the usuall thought he would have gone to a bigger club than barnsley..... don't think he has come to sit on bench

    Not necessarily i dont think. We survived with 3 last season and both mccarthy and kpekawa can fill in at centre half. Isn't will smith getting close to the first team also?

    Inevitably Roberts will move on. Whether it be this summer, January or next summer and we need players in place to fill the mantle. I have no doubt that if this lad is good enough, he'll be starting games.

    I also get the feeling based on the players we have, we could line up with 3 centre backs next season.

    You say that, but look at the Bristol game when Jones had to go to centre back. We got ripped apart. Squads need to be bigger now as theres no emergency loan window.

    Good point. But i get the feeling thats why hecky is relying on buying more utility players. Jones was never a centre half but mccarthy won player of the year at wycombe playing there. I would also like 4 central defenders to choose from but i also recognise the relative financial restraints we're under and would quite like us to give our youth a chance next season.

    Looks a decent signing on paper, coming here having ambitions of getting in the Scotland squad has got to be a good sign.

    You'd have thought Roberts will be off either this summer or Jan so hopefully this guy will be ready when he gets his chance.

    He has, but he's also more than capable at filling in at CB. Hecky also stressed the need fo have defenders who could play multiple positions.
