Absolutely could not agree more, and this is at the crux of all of this.

There are so many selfish people who can only see as far as being terrified of themselves or their family getting the virus that they don’t give two shits about all the other death and destruction being caused.

I should also clarify I don’t mean most of the people in this conversation, where we’ve been managing to disagree in a civil way for a third of a year now!

That is the governments' own figures, it's not my problem if you don't believe them.

I doubt we will ever be able to know the answer to this though.

well that’s a little bit of a simplistic view.

we will eventually have numbers from countries that locked down hard, countries that locked down badly and countries that didn’t lock down at all. There’ll be variables such as population density, but there’ll be enough data at some point to model this quite effectively

    No
That’s your interpretation of someone else’s interpretation of the governments own figures ;)

Or to put it another way:

I have throughout my career read articles containing ‘figures’ that I know inside out, and reading the spin or purposeful misinterpretation of those figures has been immensely frustrating.

The entire notion of discrediting him appears to be in the programming. As someone with > 15 years experience in software, trust me when I say - I know bad programming. It doesn't necessarily mean the end product is bad, it just means it's hard to understand and probably inefficient. It's a classic case of something being written for personal use and not to be shared.

It seems to me that they're unable to determine the strength of the model, due to the nature of the programming. They're not saying the model is bad, just they they can't verify it. I'd love to see the programming in question. I bet I've seen worse... (I bet I've written worse...)

I must say, this made me laugh: 'In our commercial reality we would fire anyone for developing code like this and any business that relied on it to produce software for sale would likely go bust.'
Clearly has never worked with some of my colleagues over the last 15 years...

The media weren't keen so they told Boris to change policy again.

The same thing that happened to those videos of Chinese folk shaking like *****-ing dogs and dropping dead in the streets.

Joking apart, we are blatantly at level two currently but it that doesn’t fit the agenda.

The media only seemed to want to exit lockdown in April.

Good question. It's frightening the state of the country if all these restrictions continue to be allowed. What happens when furlough ends if people in certain industries aren't allowed back where social distancing cannot happen such as nightclubs? People could lose their business and their homes because they will have no income coming in. On top of that we have the possibility of a no deal Brexit to look forward to.

The furlough scheme and government grants have been so shockingly misdirected by the incompetent Boris and his nice speaking but ultimately useless mate sunak that their high earning businesses and rich people have profited while as usual the little guy has been thrown to the wolves.

The same furlough assistance given to a London law firm as is given to a bowling alley who has been banned from opening for half a year and counting

It remains to be seen if the Imperial vaccine ends up with similar results to the Oxford one. It looks at the moment that it might give you a headache and not fully protect you but stop you getting seriously ill if you do catch Covid. It would be deemed a success if that's the case.

We need to go by the old covid chart as we would be level 2 with near normality if we were still going by it. Surely the government see that the restrictions are harming our country. By now it should be back to old life but keeping an eye on hospital admissions and 111 calls with covid symptoms. Then those areas can be locked down and mass testing happen. It's not a viable option to keep how life is right now as a long term solution so those at high risk should be protected.

I believe we're all the subjects of a huge social experiment by the real Prime Minister, Demonic Cummings.

If the government are worried now about the loss of high street jobs then they should get ready from around October onwards if people are still expected to queue to get in shops. Folks won't stand in the cold, rain and dark to use a service as the nights draw in.

If the people vote for a clown it’s obvious you’re gonna get a comedy show .
There isn’t one minister that’s fit to govern or looks able to take over if things go bad but I think that’s the way it was manufactured by Cummins .
People laughing when it’s mentioned that Demonic is running the country but when you have a brainless idiot who when challenged on his intelligence quotes Ancient Greek History and Myth as a reference we’re fooked .
