... to watch the Southend game. Somewhere near the Strand, ideally. TIA

Try Maple Leaf just off Covent Garden at the bottom end (near Strand).

If I remember right they show most games and serve a decent pint and a reasonable price (for London).

I did think of there as I was in there watching the Owls Play Off failure, on the eve of our Play Off success. Just wondered if they would screen a league 1 game? At least I know where it is, so that's a bonus.

I’m pretty sure I’ve had them put lower league games on from time to time when I’ve been in there - There’s plenty of screens for everyone

What’s a reasonable price for a pint in London now?

Depends on your definition of reasonable - unless you are in a Weatherspoons wrong side of £5 for sure - but between £5 and £6 is probably normal for standard beers in a typical pub

Probably got more chance in Porterhouse as they have different screens and different areas. I'd call ahead though.

The beer is far better in there as well. Maple Leaf is a pretty shoddy attempt at a pub.
