If we hadn’t been relegated could have seen it happen but not now tbh. Would be well over moon if it did of course could see me getting a bit giddy in George Spicers bespoke orangery
I generally don’t like the idea of players going back to old clubs but Hammill has proved me wrong on that front so I wouldn’t mind him back here. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that debut.
Make it happen. First-choice 'keeper, and it gives the very promising Walton another season to develop. Come 'ome, Luke, lad.
I would sign him, he knows the club very well and will hands down be the best keeper in this league. If anything it would be very beneficial for Davies to learn from someone like Steele.
Come back Luke Steel. Fine man. to the Kenny Rogers tune... 'You picked a fine time to leave us Luke Steel' What was that about. I have a memory of it.
Think he’s out of our league. Obviously if there was a chance I would love him back. Quality quality keeper at championship, let alone League 1 & a good 5 years left of his peak years.
I would absolutely love this to happen, I was gutted when he left. He loves Barnsley, both the club and the community, and we could definitely offer him game time.
We won't bring in the right players for next season while our priority remains acquiring saleable assets. The keeper we sign will need to generate a six figure profit within a couple of transfer windows.
Get him signed now we should have got him in January. I'm not renewing until i see a positive management change and this stupid plan gone through the shredder.
Is that from something you’ve heard or just speculation? It would be a real shame if he was to go, I still think he’s a good keeper that is severely lacking in confidence and form. It’s not helped him having no proper competition for the number one spot.
just what we need but unlikely to happen as he's not a spreadsheet player and we don't have a manager
I'd love Luke Steele back. But really, he should be playing in the Championship, certainly still good enough. I wonder if many of us have more of a clamour for connection with ex reds as coach, manager, player... just because we've lost so many connections over the last 12-18 months? I know i look at the club now and feel I don't have much to cling onto. When Hammill goes (with a slight if), I think that's genuinely the last hero left. Time for new heroes.... whereas we may have none at all.
